My post has nothing to do with Chris Barnicle, I personally think he is courageous and has more mental fortitude than 90% of people on this website. My post has to do with the fact that I consider anything that prevents you from being able to keep a job a problem. The key words you missed is “hold down a career†and yes there are plenty of alcoholics that are also unable to “hold down a careerâ€, but there are in fact far more alcoholics than marijuana users that are wealthy, cocktail parties are usually full of them probably partly because drinking is easier to do and come-by. You see Chris Barnicle holds a career which took him out of my post a long time ago. I chimed in about addiction you see we all have it, the question is can we control it? As a heart patient I fired one of my inter medicine specialists because of addiction, and I walked into his and it was not a pretty sight and his had nothing to do with substance but money. I watched the man gamble at least a half-million dollars away in about 40 minutes playing black jack at a local high limit casino. I told my wife to go say hello to check his response, a non-addict would be friendly a serious addict would be agitated with someone interrupting his addiction and my suspicions where correct, I requested a new doctor immediately. My thoughts were if this is how he spends his free time he is going to put me in a box. You see addiction is what I posted about regardless if this post has Chris Barnicles name on it. If you read my original post his name was not mentioned once in it!!!!
