1:06 Half Marathon PR and can't crack 1:10 anymore?? Suspicious?
More suspicious is Salazar-Rupp realizing Rupp is not world class at 5k--not even top American-- and moving on to longer distance and suddenly seemingly capable of competing at sub 2:05 (NOP fan prediction). Very, very suspicious.
Has your head been in the sand the past 5 years? Rupp ran 26:48 in 2011, the same year he ran a 60 minute half marathon. He didn't suddenly become a great long distance runner, and some folks have been stating he could very well be our best marathoner all of those years, but just wasn't racing the event.
Rupp ran 28:15 for 10K as a teenager for goodness sake.

You're beyond stupid if you claim that Rupp is not a world class 5000m runner. He is now a world class runner from 1500m - the marathon.

Rupp was third American in 2015, almost finished fourth. No where close to 13 flat, let alone sub 13. Do try to keep up.
"Rupp ran 28:15 as a teeneager" BFD - So did Rudy Chapa. Clean I might add.

ohh wow, you really are clueless. he is probably better at longer distance?! how many US teenagers can run anywhere near 28:15. how many can do it going 14:17 - 13:58?
you said he was moving up to longer distance (than the 5K) and I showed you that he's been running the 10K since high school, which almost anyone on this board who has had their head out of the sand the past 5 years would be well aware of.
as far as Rupp not being world class at 5K? now I know you really had your head in the sand.

So let me know if these are not world class fields that he is a consistent top finisher in, and let me know which americans were beating him?
This is what's crazy. Basing suspicions upon a false reality. Your claim for suspecting him is because he wasn't even a world class or top American 5K runner?

I used to like Adam but he seems to be losing it, or struggling with depression. Kara is a bitter loser, and seems to try and get her name in the media as much as possible so she can get a book deal, or a spot on The View. They really come off as extremely unlikable.
I understand that keeping the integrity of the sport alive is very important, but the Gouchers are clearly going about it in the worst way possible. Get these two away from the sport.
I agree. She ran a great race, but nobody will talk about or think about that at all. The big blast at Nike and Alsal is all that people will remember.
She should cooperate with the authorities behind the scenes, but keep the running and post race interviews about the racing.

Maybe you were referring to US champhionships where he was also the only American doubling 10K - 5K? I assumed you meant the event that he would have been peaking for.
His only other 5K last summer was at PRE, where he was also the top American. Please correct me if I've made an error, just trying to keep up.

She's still a MILF. I like that body.
Pay attention fool. The HS record for 10k does not belong to "teenage" Rupp. It belongs to Rudy Chapa: 28:32.7 set in 1976.Try learning something.USATF Championships - 6/25/2015 to 6/28/2015@ Hayyward Field, Eugene, Ore.Results for Men 5000 Meter Run SR1 Ryan Hill -- 13:50.692 Benjamin True -- 13:51.093 Galen Rupp -- 13:51.544 Garrett Heath -- 13:51.61http://www.usatf.org/Events---Calendar/2015/USATF-Outdoor-Championships/Results-by-Day/Results-FULL.aspx

Rupp #3 American at 5k is 2015 and almost dropping to fourth.

Correction - Rudy ran 28:32, Rupp ran 28:25. But Rupp did go 13:58 for his second half and he was running alone that second half. That certainly suggests that he could have done 28:15 had he run more evenly. No idea how Chapa ran his or if he was clean. The late 70's were a different time. Drinking and driving was frowned upon, as was not wearing seatbelts. I'm thinking PEDs was similar.
Good, thoughtful post but I disagree a bit on your first point. One thought I have had is that they all have something to gain in terms of downside protection. For example, if Salazar / NOP were to have a scandal, they would be associated with it or considered complicit. Once they separated from Nike (for Kara that is in 2013 after having been with Schumacher), they may have had concerns about being associated with anything bad that may come out about Rupp. So they decided to go to USADA then BBC with any concerns. Those concerns may be real but it also could be the case that they were overreaching in conclusions or misremembering details. In any event, going down this path would help them preserve any relationships with future employers, sponsors despite years of close association with Salazar. I realize that this is total speculation here.I thought the NOP response had an odd tone to it and that some explanations were odd. But so far it has not been challenged and I am not sure what is keeping Magness and Goucher from challenging the details or releasing more information. We need more light and less heat. I too would like to see the final report, if any.

The HS record is Chapa's not Rupp's.
I feel bad for Rupp and the rest of NOP if this isn't true, but at the end of the day there are 2 scenarios here.
1. Numerous well-respected individuals in our sport are slandering Salazar because they're bitter.
or
2. A highly competitive training group is cheating to gain an advantage.
Unfortunately I feel like I've seen this movie before...
The bullying and attacks on accusers credibility are right out of the Lance Armstrong playbook.
The completely insane ability to recover from super-intense workloads echos Ben Johnson, El G, and others.

I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe that USADA would have let Galen start/run/win/qualify/dominate camera time/bring more attention to himself if they had ANY evidence that he (and his team) were about to "sink".
Galen (and NOP) are grey-line clean.. the best kind of clean ;)
Three months ... that is the instant gratification demand of a millennial.
LOL ... how many years was Lance Armstrong retired BEFORE he was brought down?
You mean like how USADA allowed Armstrong to ride the 2010 Tour De France?
