Jonathan Gault has written a profile on America's version of Yuki Kawauchi (Zablocki ran 13 marathon in less than 12 months) that I think you'll enjoy.

Hold on! Incorrect, Incorrect, Incorrect! The Marine OCS paragraph is 100% incorrect.
1. There is no firing of weapons at OCS in Quantico. You have a few blanks but no real ammo and definitely no targets.
2. The other people were not eating at Denny's there is no free time to go eat at Denny's. After lights out, people stand watch and no one leaves.
3. Most of the first month is Drill, PT, O-Course, Class, and endless amounts of going to and from chow.
4. Chits are handed out throughout the day and the biggest aspect of that is missed. If you get a chit, a 300 word essay accompanies that chit. That means that you have to stay up at night writing an essay that is exactly 300 words long, and underline/number every word.
