I have just got a new coach and he is compleatly changing the way I train. My old coach had me on prety much the same training program all year round, example:
Mon- 5x1000m
Tue- rest
Wed- 6x400m (short recovery, very anerobic)
Thu- Rest
Fri- 8x150m (flat out)
Sat- Rest
Sun- 10 miles
Towards races the anerobic component of the training was steped up. I trained from about Febuary untill August with my races in August and my best times are: 2:02 800m, 4:30 1500m, 17:01 5000m, 36:14 10000m ( I know the times are slow)
My new coach is getting me to build up my milage to around 60mpw this winter (He has already started, I am up to 40mpw)And train right through to races in july and august.
My question is what kind of changes in my best times should I expect to see with the increased milage? (I had previously never run further than 20miles in a week.)
Obviously I am hopeing for big improvements!
thanks for any help
