That's really not saying much. When does a toilet bowl NOT look good?

Meanwhile lots of black athletes & black people have also expressed their disgust with Cam. Are they racist?
Mark Hill
Stephen Smith
Seahawks DE about Cam -- "that boy a b!itch"
Brandon Marshall -- 'I'm old school. I don't want my QB dancing & acting like Cam
1) Anyone can be racist. The fact that the people you mention are black is irrelevant.
2) Speaking out against Cam's behavior at the press conference does not in any way indicate racism.
That is all.
Exactly. I read a lot yesterday from people saying you're a racist if you don't like Cam's behavior at the press conference or Cam in general. Most of the people commenting or posting the articles on Facebook were the buzzfeed crowd of females or young males that don't watch football.
Cam reminds me of the kid who is taunting and bragging on the school yard at recess when his team is ahead, but when he falls behind he grabs his football and runs home. Dude doesn't deal well with winning or losing. The buzzfeed crowd didn't see this side of Cam & just heard the media buzz that people were criticizing a black QB & decided to jump in, completely ignorant to the whole picture. His race has nothing to do with it.
The buzzfeed crowds been using Belichick as a white example which is weak. Sure he doesn't give the best interviews, but Belichick is always down & grumpy. lol. He also doesn't dance & trash talk when he wins. He also doesn't refuse to answer questions & get up and leave.
Never had any respect to lose for this guy.
Just an overpaid dude who dresses up in an insane amount of body padding and throws a rugby style ball about. He then cries when his team loses.
American football sucks d*ck and should be renamed throw ball or something.
As for the super bowl then it's not really super at all and is merely a money generating exercise for sponsor and corporate companies. Still it gives directors something to boast about on a Monday morning.
The one Super Bowl bet that was a 100% certainty was that, if the Panthers lost the game, the media would light into Cam Newton.
Everyone saw this coming. Not sure why you have to go along with it.
All season the media portrayed the Panthers and especially Cam Newton as guys just having fun out there. Portrayed him as just a fun guy and you were led to believe that with his elaborate touchdown dances.
The thing with emotional guys is they have big ups and downs. They are not necessarily very professional in how the handle themselves. In contrast - you look at Joe Flacco from the Ravens. He's the opposite. Sure - he doesn't have the character and dance moves of Cam but he always gives the media the right answer. His answers can be more like an average joe - sarcastic but tasteful.
When Peyton did the same after the loss to New Orleans a couple of years ago, did you also put him in the 'no respect' category?

Really? Haven't heard of Russell Wilson, obviously.

Well, Wilson is not a league MVP. But actually, I agree that he may be of that caliber and NOT a prick. JJ Watt may be another, btw. He seems to genuinely be a nice guy.

If Newton had thrown a costly SB INT like Wilson did last year he'd have curled up in the fetal position, sobbing for hours afterward. The guy is a 26-year old child.
If disliking Cam is racist, they must be arguing that all black people are arrogant crybabies. Which would be racist.

I don't think there's much out there that would indicate Wilson is a prick or anything close. And while many do not love russell (maybe he's "too good"), he's making an effort to be a professional and a leader.
No MVP yet, as he didn't lead his team to a legendary season like Cam, but his numbers were stronger than Cam's and utterly ridiculous in Nov/Dec:

sources say Mr. Newton is absolutely crushed by your disappointment in him, as he hold in high esteem all losers who reside in their mom's basement & call out NFL ballers anonymously..

From the little I saw of the game what was he going to say? My team couldn't block for shit tonight making me look bad and not be successful? He didn't really have many opportunities it seemed to prove himself as his team as a whole were not playing well. I would have been upset too.
Brady's anemic o-line cost him the #1 seed in the regular season and a return to the Super Bowl despite that. You would never see something like that from him post-game. Same could be said for any number of other great NFL QBs. Cam has a lot of potential. He played at a high level this year for sure. But there's a certain phrase about kitchens and what to do if you can't take the heat there that comes to mind.

Exactly!
Newton is ABOVE all y'all. Indeed, he is ABOVE EVERYONE. He doesn't need to answer no stinkin' questions! He can just say, "You loser" and then his immaturity and narcissism DISAPPEARS. That's right, DIS MF APPEARS!
You don't like it, LOSER - You racist!

This is my read.
On an earlier thread, I was pretty clear that I thought Cam was arrogant and obnoxious about it. (Many of the top guys are arrogant but not ovetly in your face about it) Some posters here claimed I was a racist. Early on those who criticized Cam were type cast by the media as racist and not understanding the guy just being exuberant. The media loved Cam's angle of having to deal anger due to racism not because of his behavior.
But now the media and others suddenly pile on the guy because of his performance and his terse post game interview. I think everyone is making too big a deal about it. Its like the media likes to build someone up, not be realistic about the person's flaws but then relish in knocking him down. His terse interview could have been done better but really not that big of deal.
I personally was more annoyed by Peyton. His shilling for Bud seemed manipulative and disrespectful. At that moment when he is getting all that love from the crowd his instinct is to play the media?
