That is ridiculous going all the way to Europe to run the equivalent of a 4:41 mile????? She might be done for whatever reason, hip/knee alignment, weight gain or mental breakdown....no more excuse being away from home, etc.
She probably will stay there and run some more meets.
It makes no sense flying all the way to Europe when there was a very competitive 1 mile at the Armory Meet???? Same thing with Hasay flying to NYC to run a 3K when there was a good 3k at the HP meet in Portland that she might not have been able to win???? NOP is wacked.
Men's 3K wasn't exactly a snooze fest, but a bit disappointing. According to the commentator where I was watching (Eurosport) the pacer was supposed to take them through 1K in 2:31 and 2K "just outside of 5 minutes". The guy sounded mostly clueless, so maybe that wasn't really the case, but if it was the pacer was terrible.
2:40 at 1K and 5:17 I think at 2K. No point in even having a pacemaker out there if it's going to be that slow. We are talking about guys who can run 7:30 or faster ... some who have (Alamirew and Choge, even if it seems like ages ago for both of them now).
The last 2 laps were exciting at least. 28.9 and 26.9 if I'm remembering right, for Choge. Still to my mind not that quick off such a slow pace. With Ndiku and Kejelcha there plus the 3:31 guy Birgen still in it, I would have thought it'd take 52-53 to win.
Ndiku looked like he got squeezed pretty bad, between Choge on the inside and Birgen on the outside, with 300 to go. Would have like to seen what he could have done if he made it to the front there. Kejelcha might have been closing fastest of all but didn't time things up very well.
Between the pole vault and triple jump they only showed maybe 5 laps total of the 3K.
Schippers also got a slow start out of the blocks, but made up incredible ground in the last 30m. She's the real deal.

Great to see Ciara Mageean back in top level action! World & European Junior silver medallist over 1500m in 2010 & 2011. Had her injuries but hopefully this is her back - also a Irish National Indoor Record over 1500m!

Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
