I don't know how much Tom emphasizes technique work with his athletes in general- I would say it is secondary to his focus on the actual running training. Drew does a lot of 100 meter strides which are meant to work on form and relaxation at race speeds without being a hard workout. I do know that Drew has worked very hard on his running technique over the last 3 years, because his parents knew his technique was not great and focused on it once he became committed to the sport. If you watch the race video from Penn his soph year you can see his improvement. Also Foot Locker 2014 race. He used to have a shorter, choppier stride, elbows way out to the side, and a pronounced side to side wobble. Much better now but still a bit of a side to side wobble and a less than fluid stride sometimes.
