Watching on Runnerspace but the quality isn't great. Only 432p...:(.
And how did Drew do?
Wow.

Less than 2 seconds slower than Rupp.
That's utterly ridiculous
29.4 last 200 (rounded up from 29.376).
Even though I called it on the prediction thread, I'm still kind of flabbergasted. He just broke the old US born record by almost 8 seconds.....
Tinman's prediction of 3:55 isn't seeming so outlandish anymore.

He crushed the old record. The Kenyan Cheserek set the mark, 8:05.46, en route to an 8:39.15 two-mile at the Millrose Games in 2013. The best mark by an American high schooler indoors is 8:06.3 by Gerry Lindgren in 1964; outdoors, German Fernandez has the U.S. HS record at 7:59.83 from 2008.
Plus it needs to be remember this is on a flat track. The NCAA conversion of .9885 would convert Hunter's time to 7:53.82. We know you can't use a converted time to a record, but according to the NCAA, Hunter's time today is best 3k/2 miles by an American indoors our out.
The outdoor American HS 2 mile mark belongs to German Fernandez at 8:34.40, which is equivalent to 7:56.24 according to LetsRun.com/John Kellogg conversion, and the U.S. high school record belongs to the Lithuanian Lukas Verzbicas at 8:29.46, which equates to 7:51.67.
looking forward to post-race interviews with him and Tinman
Used milesplit's converter and it says 8:34 for 3200 and 8:37 for two miles. very quick

That's equivalent to a 3:56 mile...
Oh yes, and Heath won the race in 7:48
Looks like he was right on Vargas's heels in the lead pack until the last 600 clicking off 31-32 seconds/200, dropped a few seconds off the pace for the next 400, and then finished strong (29).
Roessler 2nd in 2:03.27. Bishop 1st in 2:02.
Cas Loxsom only 1.53 800m... this happens when you take a 400/800 guy and train him as a 1500m specialist. I think 8x1000 didn't help him this winter. Nor did tons of long runs. Worst 800m in four years for him.

He's done. Season over.
Also today in VA HS running, Brandon McGorty, Sean's brother, ran a 1:51 800. We're living in a golden age. No joke.
McGortys doing some weekend running for sure!
