Has anyone else seen the new charger? Wow it sucks. The front looks nothing like the charger of yesteryear; and it has, count 'em, not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 doors! That's right, 4 (!FOUR!) stinkin doors. Unlike Ford, which has done a nice job of making a throwback mustang, dodge has bastardized one of the coolest muscle cars. The 1971 Dodge Charger was one of the best muscle cars made if not the best. It happened to have only 2 doors however, which took away from it's FUNCTIONALITY! And that does take away from it's lustre. Because that's what most people look for when they purchase a muscle car. FUNCTIONALITY. And good fuel economy.
who cares?

A lot of people you granola eating loser. I agree the new Charger leaves a lot to be desired. The new Mustang is much better - $25,000, 300horsepower, and 0-60 in 5.1 seconds. Doesn't get much better than that!
Agreed... Take me back to '68-69: Plymouth GTX, 440 w/375hp STOCK; 1/4 in under 13.
you're right, the new charger is awful. I think the mustang sucks too. I like the retro look, but technologically it's living in the 60's as well. That's unfortunate.
Developing a car that does not run on gasoline or petroleum products should have been a National Defense Priority back in '73. We should be ashamed of ourselves.
This would have provided one MAJOR element in helping us detach ourselves from the misery in the Middle East and allow both sides of that argument to wipe each other out and leave us in peace.
The Charger is a muscle car...not some 4-door-family-sedan. I like the Dodge product, but they really screwed this one up. Outside of the Viper(which you can't even get any more) they don't have a true sports car.
I actually own a '05 Dodge Magnum w/ Hemi. It's sweet ride and fairly sporty, but we bought it for family use. I thought the Charger would be a closer resemblance to it's original muscle feel.
or we could drill in alaska
I have owned two mustangs. Both fell apart. I'll never buy another ford. I may consider a new Z06 vette but aside from that, I'm really going to steer clear of detroit. German cars are the way to go...
Yeah, Ford leaves a lot to be desired in terms of their tech, but the look just about makes up for it, or at least shows they're going the right way. And as another person said, you can't argue with 5.1 seconds. But as yet another person said, German is the way to buy. I myself own 2 german cars right now.

I've never owned a German car, but that being said I have to say that quality across the board is now so good that it doesn't make much difference unless a car has a particular defect. Plus, you could buy a couple 6 cylinder Mustangs for every 1 car from der Faderland. What year Mustangs did you have? We had a 1969 that was great. Plus, anything that did go wrong was easy to fix. Ahh, noncomputerization.
When is Plymouth gonna come back with the god-damned Barricuda?
Long live the 340...
but only for a couple of months before we run out

I don't eat granola.
Only true loser would buy a friggin Dodge Charger of any year. American cars suck, have always sucked and always will suck.
German is the way to go
Really? German cars are the way to go. How do you explain Mercedes so far back in the JD Power reliability results and Volkswagon scoring lower than Ford?
Gunther, I still chuckle at how easy it is to sell pretentious American hipsters our overpriced crap! Put a reference to the autobahn or call it the ultimate driving machine and those drooling yuppies come running!
Jah, Hans. It is too funny. Put different sheet metal and burl wood on a Dodge Stratus und you now have a C-Class for three times the price! Pass me another Spaten!
German cars are so overrated. Their reliability is worse, yes worse than american cars. GM actually scores very well in reliabilty ratings, behind only Toyota and Honda.
The VW New Beetle, Golf and Jetta are awful is terms of quality. Audi is bad across the board. Oh don't get me wronf the cars are great, when they work. But they're more expensive and less reliable and expensive to work on as well.
Personally I'd take an american car over a German one any day, especially when you take price into consideration.
the german companies have gone downhill significantly after their mergers.... I stand true NOTHING WILL BEAT A JEEP (older than 96 freggin' chrysler).
have had a BMW since 1995 and have had no problems with it. They are also not as expensive as everyone here is making them out to be. A 3 series BMW will run you about $30,000-35,000 where a mustang is about 25,000, and trust me a 3 series is A LOT better than a mustang.
American cars are pretty awful though. Once owned a Dodge caravan and it lasted 6 months...
