I don't like Galen. Never have. BUT, if he ran the marathon, I'd actually be rooting for him. I like the thought of Rupp the Marathoner, he's just so boring at the middle distance. So Go Galen Go!

Given that everyone here thinks he is going to do it and seems to want him to do it, what will this place be like if he doesn't do it??
Imagine if Pre had pulled shit like this.
Galen needs to put his ass on the line. Win lose blowup what ever Galen needs to Just Do It.
I wouldn't be upset, but do hope he runs. Rarely does he have the kick necessary on the track, perhaps the marathon might be his thing.
ruppie just can't go for more than two hours without a NOPe Dope injection
Not really. I don't think the marathon matters any more than any other event.
I HATE marathons- ran 4, hate em, hate the training, het the race.
Love to watch them.
My T is 669.
I take no drugs or T boosters.
My doctor said it was my lifestyle- I LOVE the 800- short, harder runs, speed work, core work, some weights.
I don't think
I hope he runs and gets smoked by ABDI! 2008 10000m repeat baby!
Why should I be upset when someone else makes a decision about their life and their career that does not directly affect me?
"He can jog a 65 first half and burn-out all his competitors."
Why do people say stupid shit like this?
Usain Bolt can jog 200 meters in 24. He still can't break 4 minutes in a mile, or run a 10k under 30:00.
There is often a big difference between what someone can do in 5k/10k vs what they can do in a marathon. The list is too long about good 10k who flopped at the marathon.
I'd love to see Rupp be the next great USA marathoner, but just because he's our fastest 10k guy does not mean he can run a marathon worth a crap.
I won't be upset at all if he NO RUN.
But I do think it'd be cool. I was against it at first, but it's possible he'd be a medal threat, more than in the 5000.
I still think his best 5000 mark is ahead of him.
