Wrong - US Swimming is currently working with USADA to test foreign training partners of US swimmers who are training here in the US. So, it is possible.

Why didn't she run? Injured?
This thread is 80 posts long, so people obviously care about professional runners. What's the story? She was a top contender.
She did run. She looked fat and out of shape and gradually fell back. Not in the same form as when she ran her marathon best.

While I did not pick her for the team she was on my top ten list. Fresh from untested training and a shady name and citizenship past what's not to like about her chances ‽
pretty sure she did not run. belainesh gebre (sp?) was seen up front for the first several miles, perhaps you are confusing the two? I don't recall ever seeing Demissie on TV, or even in the results

Looks like she ran near the lead group for about 4 miles and then dropped out near 9 or 10 after falling off the pace.
