Pheobe's blog looks awesome, I look forward to reading more of it. I also heard her on a podcast one time, and she was by far the best guest and had many interesting things to say about being a pro runner. I forget what podcast it was though.

these blogs are stupid. i could care less to read about her
This is one of my favorite blogs. I appreciate that she is critical of herself and pretty entertaining as well. She's definitely one of my hs girl's favorite athletes.
Went in the bathroom after she exited. The horror!

How much less could you care? A whole lot less indicates that you care deeply for the blog. A little bit less means it's OK but you probably won't be reading it.
Although I always used to hate the networks "up close and personal" profiles because they took up a lot of time that could actually show races, I now think blogs like Wright's are exactly what track needs to become more popular. Her blog is lively and down to earth, and makes people feel like they know her. Its the same thing with Symmonds--even if you think he's a grandstander, you know who he is, and can root for or against him. Cain got a lot of attention from the mainstream press not just because of her early fast times, but also because she was enthusiastic and chatty when interviewed.
Most fans want to feel like they "know" an athlete even though they might have no idea what they are actually like in person. So I have images of runners--shy, pleasant, and a little boring (Wilson, Hasay), feisty with an edge (Manzano, Rowbury), wears a manbun (Jager.) As I said, these could be totally inaccurate (except the manbun) but they are part of my casual fan's identification. I think I would have a better sense of the marathon if I was able to identify the top African competitors with their personalities, but for all their blathering during marathon telecasts, commentators never tell the stories of the leaders to give me a kind of "image" of them. I know, it shows I'm not a true, hard-core fan. But I think Wright and others like her are really doing more to promote running's popularity than any Nike Ad featuring Mo Farah or Melissa Bishop running on the treadmill.
That's Great! Thanks for posting!
been reading her blogs for a couple of years. Well written and relatable. One of my favorite athletes who i really want to do well. Interesting that there is an inverse relationship between blog frequency and performance.
I like her blog. I have read several of her posts and they always make me laugh.
It baffles me why there is so much bitterness and hate on LR. You don't like it, don't read it. Figure out what is making you so unhappy in your life and try to fix it. HINT: It ain't Phoebe Wright's blog.

I was annoyed after the first sentence. The idea you're a good runner so you know more than everyone else is off putting.
You're complaining about this at Letsrun?
Hahahahahaha!
Thanks for the link. Entertaining read. Wish her well!
She has never run 1:57. What are you smoking?
Official best time of 1:58.22 in Eugene 2010. Believe she ran a 1:57 in a meet that wasn't sanctioned so she doesn't get credit for that mark.
http://www.all-athletics.com/node/171137There is a reference to Phoebe's 1:57 in an interview with Sabrina Southerland - "I feel like this is the perfect situation for me to run [a personal best],†she said. “I’ve been in races with girls who have run 1:57 like Brenda Martinez and Phoebe Wright, and that has kind of prepared me for a different level."

Why are so many runners airheads? I mean total wacko dips.[/quote
I believe Phoebe Wright is going for a master's degree in biology.
Her blog is deeply personal. Her experiences and thoughts come across with passion and sincerity.
Phoebe at one point claimed she ran a 1:57 and was now on a quest to prove she was not a "one hit wonder", but looks like she removed that from her blog.

She has not run 1:57 no matter what some random interview vaguely alludes to. She listed her PBs on her blog including those run in practice.
You're a twat.
She claimed 1:57 on her blog, then removed it.
I've followed her blog, and her on Twitter, for a while now. Very entertaining, intelligent person. A couple years ago, she and another 800m friend (female, dark-haired) whose name escapes me now, wrote about a cross-country road trip they took, as they went along. It was great.
I've also read somewhere that her IQ is pretty damn high.
Wishing her continued success is her running, writing and future endeavors!

In the oldest original archived version of her blog she claims her PB is 1:58.22 and now clearly states she has never come within 1 second of it. She has never claimed to have run 1:57, stop fabricating things.
