WR has to be gone now.
WR has to be gone now.
Tesfaye Abera is a giant. 6-foot-4 according to this article.
behind WR pace by 8 sec
too warm outside
I smell some severe blow-ups in the last 10k. everyone but Lemma looks like pure hell.

It's a two-horse race for the women. Tirfi Tsegaye and Amane Beriso.

Welp. I didn't expect six guys to break the world record today. Hopefully a couple of them can manage something in the 2:03s though -- which would still be an amazing run.
2:57
The pace has slowed dramatically since 30k.
30km 01:27:21
31 km 01:30:21
32 km 01:33:23
33 km 01:36:31
So they ran 3:00, 3:02, 3:08.
So after running sub 29 from 20k to 30k, they are now running over 3:00. No chance of a WR.

Yep. Time for the pain train. Hope they switch back to the men to watch their hearts explode.
one of the pacers for lead females is also named Lemma
4 left including Yao Ming
At least we got a 30k WR
Down to 5 men now. 67 degrees with the sun out full, got to be hurting now

Too bad Kebede is not running side by side with him.
Would have been fun to watch.

Yao's probably 5'9"
Now 2:03:31 pace through 35k (1:42:27) for the leaders. Makes you realize how impressive Kimetto's run was. After running 2:03:13 pace through 30k, he dropped a 14:10 from 30 to 35k!
