Do you even cut?
What is the size of your team?
I've run into an issue the past two seasons. I have a pretty big team and I end up working with
Sprinters/Hurdlers/Relays/Throws and the vertical jumps. It's a lot and overwhelming. Luckily everything is written out.
I want to give everyone a chance but kids being kids, when I am not around they goof off or slack off and half ass everything. Not all, just some. One issue is that sometimes the older kids have to teach the younger kids stuff. If some kids are douche bags then it is a waste of the veterans time.
So we cut kids in the beginning of the season but that's based solely off of talent. A time trial. Any coach know they would rather have 20 untalented kids who will do work instead of an all star squad who slacks off. Even worse is the mediocre kid who is decent and does enough to get by but doesn't push the envelope.
Should I do a second round of cuts mid season?
Any other thoughts?
