Did any of you questioning why she was DQ'd even read the article?

As someone prior to your post (and after the first couple of posts) explained, the online article was updated with more information. The early article did not indicate that she had someone on a bike giving her liquids and that she had been told during the race to knock it off.
I guess her special drink was important to her because there is no other reason why this woman ran this race instead of Houston where she would have had a group of women to run with that were trying to also get a sub 2:45 (but probably not Elite water station status).
She tried the 'White Privilege' card.

Definitely a touchy subject. For all we know, the woman could have some sort of allergy that would make taking aid gels/fluids/whatever dangerous.
But with that said, the rules are the rules. She broke them, she paid the price. End of story. IMO doesn't make her a bad person.

Makes her a cheat though.

Build a wall around her
From what I've heard, they didn't let her into the elite group at Houston. Not sure why.
The Louisiana Marathon didn't provide the elites with any sort of aid station, so it was either take what was on the course or somehow carry it all with her. You'd think a race of this size would offer that to at least the top 3-5 entrants. Other than this, I've heard nothing but good things about the race.
She was also warned many times along the course that she wasn't allowed to take any more nutrition from outside, and when she continued they disqualified her.

And get her to pay for it.
Was Honey Stinger the only fuel on the course? Are those popular goos? If a race only offers some off-brand fuel, I feel a bit bad for a runner wanting to use their fuel, but carrying goos isn't that hard. I've run faster than that carrying my own stash. She also must not have felt she'd get a DQ either. How hard is it to be at least a bit stealthy? Have whoever is following you around the course palm one and give you a light high five to exchange the goo. Carry it for a bit then partake. In the grand scheme of things, if the race is cool with you having your own goo, who cares how you get it as long as you don't interfere with someone else. Which make their whole bike exchange deal even more idiotic.
Imagine the chaos if everyone had their own cyclist supplying fuel.
Above poster, how many gels do you carry as a faster marathoner?
If this race wants to host the Olympic trials, they should probably try to help the faster runners accomplish their goals than make it more difcicult and then dq them.
Some runners spend a lot of time practicing their race nutrition and become dependant on that. It would be a hard decision if a race didn't provide the necessary structure for you to do that. You can either try something you haven't practiced and take whatever is provided or follow your plan even if it results in a dq.
In an event like the marathon that you may only run a couple times a year, I would probably choose the dq also.
I didn't even eat or drink anything during my last marathon but know that most think it helps.
2 taken at twelve and 20.
Second place was nearly 20 minutes behind her. This is like being up 30 pts in the 4th quarter of a basketball game and then forced to forfeit because your jersey wasnt tucked in. You can't make up 20 minutes on better nutrition and pacing.

I concur. Never should have been dq'd.
Look, she should be disqualified. I have seen this first hand in marathons and it is frustrating. The last two marathons I have run I have seen people get a bottle at points along the course. That is an advantage. Think about it,if Rupp showed up to the Olympic trials and Salazar handed him a bottle whenever he wanted it and the rest of the field got to take watered down Gatorade out of paper cups. Case closed she was disqualified and may lose her job as a Nike rep for being stupid.
