Yeah unless he's in 2:10 shape running a marathon 4 weeks out isn't pragmatic.

Bill Rodgers would do it for the money and recover fine for a peak marathon in a month but he was rare.

Wtf was he thinking? 2:18 was def closer to an all out effort....money hungry? Not making enough from coaching? Just do not understand, wtf he was doing.

Next he will run the austin marathon, or woodlands marathon. What a joke! If he is,going to do this, then stop posting dumb shit about dreams, making the team, etc..

I'm sure he has a plan and this was part of it but it does seem a bit strange.

he is no Derek Clayton that is for sure. Clayton ran 2:17:26 only 9 days before he ran his 2:08:33 in Antwerp in 1969!!!!!!!!!!

I really hope he has cleaned himself up but unfortunately everything I've heard has pointed otherwise.

Sooooooooooooooo dumb! 15 months ago this kid ran his marathon PR. Now he's pissing away his shot at being a legit contender for a few k. This smells like Brad telling him "you could totally go and win the prize money while getting your workout in". But then better than expected people showed up and the kid let his ego get the best of him for the prize money and some social media pub. Enjoy blowing up at Trials Cabadumb!

Yeah, if you live in a beat up mobile home in some meth park and have a roommate. I'd love to pay under $300 rent in an "average city".

Maybe 2:18 is a little aggressive and he would have been better off running his initial plan of 2:20-2:25, but this isn't much different than Canova's 40km hard long run 4-5 weeks out and Cabada has Hudson as an adviser, who is also heavily influenced by Canova.

We will see in a few weeks how it plays out for him. Assuming he's in 2:11-2:12, this isn't much harder than racing an all-out half marathon, like others did today.
