"Chompsky" ---sounds legit.
Chompsky is no genius but he's a clever and dogged activist who is always sticking it to the evil people.
Currently he's at it with the Sultan for being a terrorist.
I love people whose ego prevents them from getting the joke.

I find the topic of this thread and the responses very interesting. The topic is certainly very esoteric with a certain purposefully implied message by the OP regarding his own high educational and intellectual standing. The first response he received was unnecessarily snarky obviously formulated to contradict this implied message through stating the OP is common in his preferences and assessments of these intellectuals.
The OP took umbrage to this.
I get a kick out of you smart people.

That's a good choice. I quite like Alan Dershowitz too.
I would say though, at this point in time there aren't any extraordinary right-leaning intellectuals. They can all describe the mess that the left has got us into, including entitlement mentality, exploding immigration, multiculturalism, Islam, parallel societies, collapse of family values and social cohesion, overspending, shrinking middle class, censorship, etc. But none of these intellectuals have formulated a way to get out of it.
Fortunately, intellectuals have never been drivers of major historical changes. That's the role of technology or popular movements. And the intellectuals will join the party after the changes have started taken place and explain what actually happened and what may follow. So we need someone to actually push the reset button and lead the way forward: Trump 2016.

The "left" are somehow responsible for all this? Please explain how your family values are a function of my political persuasion.
.. And do tell, when you're ready, about this "social cohesion". When, exactly, do you suppose it actually existed?
"Censorship" is a function of the left? Really? When I think of books being removed from libraries, movies being rated NC17, etc, conservatism is what comes to mind.

Agreed

That's because they know the only way to get out of it is to educate the public on the causes of the problems, so that's what they do.

Agree nearly 100%. Intellectuals generally don't solve problems.
I would suggest looking to Charles Murray on the right (more Libertarian really) for ways to solve a few of the issues you mention.
The problems are politically based, not ideologically based, so the answers must be political in nature. Libertarians have answers but they don't have solutions.
A question based on ideology:
Q. How do we solve dependence on Welfare?
A: Cut Welfare programs.
That won't work in the real world, because the wrong question was asked.
The real question based on politics:
Q. How do you stop the government from buying off everyone with everyone else's money after they've already done it and EVERYONE feels entitled to other people's money?
A. Uh-oh.
The political question has no clear answer other than the slim possibility that everyone can be made to understand that we can't live out of each others' wallets and expect everyone to come out ahead. Or the even slimmer possibility that the Supreme Court will return the rule of law and limit the Federal Government to it's original limitations.
shocking to see Richard branson has yet to be mentioned.
