Gotta agree. It's a tragedy when someone gets hit and I'm glad when drivers are held accountable. That being said, others need to realize how terrible most drivers really are. And we need to run/walk/ride accordingly.
Just yesterday I drove past a cyclist riding on the edge of the road, in the dark, with his head phones on. His bike had no lights and wasn't wearing any reflective gear. He was wearing his helmet (and local bike club outfit), but still. How stupid can you be? Stop thinking these tragedies can't happen to you.
Be extra cautious. Don't think these drivers see you just because you see them. And if you are the one who is driving, stay off your effing phone.
