I don't get while this is impressive. I know an 11 year old who ran a low 17min 5k and a road 800 in 2:20 on the same day. He also ran a 57mid 15k and a 1:24:XX half marathon in the same week. I'm not sure what the big deal is

1. This never happened.
2. No you don't.
What is his name if this is true

And speaking of the winner the year before, does anybody know 46 year old Gary Butcher who went through the first 10k in 31:22 on his way to a 1:09:09?
That had to be one of the highest age graded races in the nation for a half marathon.
Wheelchair guy? He was in the wheelchair results for the Gate River 15k.

Are we sure on this? Official results have his 5k split at 36:41 and missing the 10k split. Is the 5k split an error?

And, if the 36:41 was his 10K split as Chambers (dad) claims, then that would be 90 seconds under the currently recognized single age world record.

I'm not seeing his name in the results anymore, must have been DQ'd/removed.
Still there - correct link belowhttp://www.1stplacesports.com/jm15halfres.htm

Now he's gone.

I am so sick of these idiots having their kids run half and marathons at such a young age. I have a ten year old who would kill that kid in anything from a 5k down to a 200m. He can run a 5:13 mile, a 2:16 800m, and a 1:02 400m. Why are kids so young already trying to run so far? I will answer my own question, because they can't win at anything else. This kid got destroyed at xc nationals and anything below a half is not his strong suit.
I won't even mention my twelve year olds times because they are much better than the ten year olds and we are nothing special as evidenced by the hammering my kids get in USATF nationals.
Please people stop forcing your kids to run longer and longer distances to either have a running buddy or to have the kid finally win at something. I already push the limit with mine (about 25-30 mpw) and I can't imagine what those kids have to run to be able to run a half or full marathon. Grow up! There isn't a kid alive who actually likes running that far at that young of an age. It is grueling to run that long and not suitable for children who can't regulate body temperature and are still growing.

http://www.bigwhitetrailer.com/timing/results_2015/20150719PIHalfResults/Overall.htmI have run each of these courses, with my garmin, and they are all accurate. (excecpt the half mile, didn't run with a watch, but the timing company who puts on the races is very good/professional, so I assume that's accurate as well.
I know the kid and his Dad somewhat personally. Really good kid. Talented as all get out. Was running high 19's for 5k when he was 8-9 years old.
Oh and he's run many faster 5ks than the one I posted, I just wasn't there and can't verify for 100% if the other races he ran were accurate. I posted this one because of the double, and the fact that he was only 30 seconds behind me. hahaha
He was there before but now he is gone, must have been dqued
Yep. Not quite the talent you initially thought and 5k split was not in error.

Yes this is an error. It is actually the 10k split and apparently they don't have a 5k split for him
How would this even happen with an electronic timing system? In the old days of pen and paper, human error could result in someone writing the split time in the wrong column, but I don't really see how a computer could make this mistake.

Thanks. I've seen fast times before that were put in regular results with no mention of wheelchair.
Geez you're cynical.

Dude, this kid isn't even running competitive times. 27-29 for 5k. Probably just running because he likes it or he runs with one of his parents. There are other reasons people run than to win world titles.
I don't see him either- this link is for the 5K.
Heck, that's not even that bad for a 46 year old in a wheelchair.
