Imagine that, a school full of arrogant picks complaining that one of their own is an arrogant prick?
Heading to ohio state as offensive coordinator
You mean the OC/HC for the Titans...gonna make Mariota an NFL star.

That means every week he can ask for forgiveness for his transgressions. It's all good because every week is a reboot.
So he only knows how to coach one person in the whole league?
IMO, This is why you don't mix GM duties with coaching.
This was the best news I have heard all year.
I have been an Eagles fan forever but I took the year off because I didn't agree with Chip Kelly's moves and did not want him to succeed.
I don't see why players would give them their loyalty when he doesn't give his.
You don't rebuild when you have a 10-6 team and the main stars are in their twenties.
And it's not fantasy football where you select players from different teams and add their stats.
They have to play together and have cohesion.
Arrogant with out reason.
How does infamous Eagles fan Mike Rossi feel about it?
You mad, bro?
I'm hoping he takes the "hurry up and punt" offense with him. They actually had a drive this season that took 7 seconds off the clock.
Just another guy who couldn't figure out how very different coaching in the NFL is from college. Any owner who turns over GM duties to an ex-college coach this early in his tenure is only compounding the problem.

Maybe you were watching a different Eagles team. The one that I watched last year was never going to win a Super Bowl. They could beat teams with losing records (unless of course they had to beat them) and would lose to the good teams. They were mediocre and just had the dice fall their way a time or two to nudge them above the 500 mark. They were a mediocre team in every way.
Certainly those first two Kelly years were better than the post-Johnson years of the Reid era, and the seasons could be enjoyed on a week to week basis, relishing in each victory over some losing team, but it was such a disappointment when you looked at the bigger season picture.
Lurie screwed up by giving a newbie coach gm responsibilities. He should fire himself. It's too bad we lost a decent coach. I hope he doesn't end up at Dallas or in NY.
He should have kept Tebow. Maybe God would have gone easier on him if he had.
One thing for Eagles to note is although he is leaving, they are not going to hire a GM. They are going back to the team they had in place when they drafted Marcus Smith number one, who is by the way the player that allowed Kelly to make the power play to GM in the first place. Be careful what you wish for... Lurie's faith in Howie Roseman is something that I see as a problem for the future of the organization. Coming back from Kelly's miscues as a GM is going to be a big job especially with so much cap money going for Maxwell and Murray in the next couple of years.
Last year's team lost most of their games with Sanchez at QB.
They started 6-2 with Foles but they had at least two starting lineman out most games in the first half of the season.
And if they had kept Jackson, last year's team would have been a SB threat.
There is no argument that they were worse after the changes he made before this year.
Getting rid of the stars that were drafted by the Eagles, picking up players from other teams AND doing worse is a terrible combination of decision making.
It's the worst self-destruction I have ever seen.
Teams have gone from good to bad before, but usually it is because of injuries.
I've never seen a winning team change personnel like that before.
I think the 2013 team (with Le'Sean McCoy and De'Sean Jackson) with a top 15 QB at the helm is very very dangerous. In hindsight it looks very dumb to get rid of these players. Jackson has had a nice year with Washington, is a home run threat, and you always need to cover him. But upon further inspection was it really that dumb to get rid of some of these guys?
Lest we forget Jackson was hurt a lot this year, he goes dark in a lot of games and hasn't really been THAT productive this year.
He is 72nd in receiving yards this year and counts $9.5M against the salary cap (that is the third highest on the skins,
http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/washington-redskins/cap/
At $9.5M against the salary cap, he is 9th overall in the league.

I don't watch that much football but I live in the NYC area and they show, Jets, Giants, Pats, Cowboys and Packers basically. Eric Decker, Brandon Marshall, Odell Beckham Jr., Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, Dez Bryant, Julian Edelman are all BETTER than DeSean Jackson at this point. Would anyone really argue that paying him that much is great value?
LeSean Mccoy is $5.5M contract but he is on the wrong side of 27, and think his deal is long term.
He is 10th in the league in rushing so lets say he is fair value. However DeMarco Murray has been far less productive. This has proved to be a blunder swapping him for DeMarco Murray. It was panned at the time but what coach doesn't think he can beef up an offensive line behind a ridiculously athletic running back? Lets call this a draw too since McCoy apparently was really bad in the locker room and all accounts kind of a bad guy. Plus his running back by committee kind of worked and maybe Murray's numbers aren't so bad if Ryan Matthews isn't there.

To me the dumbest and most damming thing he did was not signing Jeremy Maclin.
http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/cap-hit/wide-receiver/
Maclin is just 39th against the cap and almost 3.0x less than De'Sean Jackson. He is 19th overall in the league in yards with ALEX SMITH as his quarterback and one of the most conservative play callers of all time at head coach. This to me was mind boggling and has really hurt the team since the other receivers have set a record for drops this year. He is a big receiver, has big play ability, a clear #1, makes life easier for the rest of the offense.
Also please no one try to argue trading away Nick Foles was a bad idea. The guy got benched on a bad team, Bradford has quietly had an efficient season.
I think to win a super bowl you need to have a QB in the upper third of ability. Brady (greatest of all time), Russel Wilson (almost MVP this year, incredible streak in the middle of the season), Joe Flacco (greatest playoff QBR of all time), Eli (http://espn.go.com/nfl/qbr only 16 here, was clutch in 2011), and Aaron Rodgers have won the last five super bowls.
Chip Kelly is like many other perennially bad teams in that he doesn't have a great QB (or didn't the last three years). Honestly a lot of his ideas are pretty practical and other teams (like division rival dallas) have gotten themselves into salary cap hell because they sign veterans to really dumb deals.
The Patriots cut players all the time (the cut Randy Moss for pete's sake), and no one notices bc they have Tom Brady at QB and will always be good.
The 2013 team was the same team that only won 4 games the previous season. All they proved was that culture and a system can make a bad team better. Anyone who was paying attention that year was praising Kelly
McCoy was not traded for Murray. He was traded for alanzo. A bust!
McCoy wouldn't have done crap behind our offensive line this year so it's hard to compare, but I thought the 3 headed monster was an upgrade in talent.
Kelly's draft picks were to be commended too but the holes he left in the O line, receivers and linebackers are just laughable. I hope to god the ditch davis and the 3-4 defense because we don't have any standout linebackers other than hicks. The line is awesome and with another big body could cause some real havoc. Cox could line up anywhere.

Don't worry. Chip is generally viewed as an idiot by Dallas fans. I'd guess the same could be said for Giants fans.
That said, Chip Kelly could wind up back as HC at the college level. Not many openings this year, so he might have to wait until next year.
