Finally. A topic - besides marathon cheating - that we can all agree on!
It's a Christmas miracle!

Winner.
Don't spit on an indoor track.
spitting on any track is disrespectful to the greats who have run before us and therefore bad luck. always spit in the football teams turf.
I am going to dismiss the spitting incident - even though it is gross - and harp on you for the disrespectful, passive-aggressive way in which you responded to the coach. You clearly have no class. Even if he is a crappy coach who sucks, you can respond to him like a man. Making him repeat himself just makes you look like a scared fool. I guarantee the guys you were running with think you're a pansy.
In this situation, you continue on with your workout while acknowledging him with a brief, "Sorry, no problem" while looking him in the eye.
6/10

Lots of responses but not enough heat to bump you up to a higher score. Good enough for a golf clap though!

I'm not convinced it was a troll. Why? Because a few times I have seen somebody spit on the gym (weight room, not gymnasium) floor. The same kind of @sshat would spit on an indoor track.

Can you describe the spit more? Was the solidified gooey kind or did it have more of a lubricating moistness to it?
The spit appeared to be something like what you expect if someone was chewing tobacco, which I hardly think Barry was doing. It was thick, stringy, and brown. There was enough of it to go "splat!" when it hit the floor.

By the head coach at some awful D3 school.
He stated (the head coach) "if you spit on the track again, you won't be allowed back" and then when we didn't acknowledge him he stated it again, and I replied, we got it dude.
Should i be as pissed about this as I am?
who doesnt spit on an indoor track? is he just a wanker ?
Definitely a wanker, but you shouldn't be spitting on an indoor track.
Regardless. You are indoors. It does not matter if the coach is from a good or bad program
I applaud his actions
Yeah that's gross. Never spit on a track.
I always spit on the discus arena because no one cares about that.
Spitting on the track is gross. I might make an exception for runners under starter's orders or during a race if you are clear of other people, but otherwise it's bad form, indoor or out, but indoor is particularly bad.
OP, are you really Shannon Rowbury?

Wetting/licking your hands and putting it on your shoes is how any normal person would do it. You don't spit directly on the floor unless you're braindead.
I know a lot of guys that spit on the floor and then wipe their shoes through it. Not necessarily on the playing area but on the sideline in the huddle or on the baseline before walking on the floor. A little easier and a little more sanitary then spitting on your hands and then touching the ball.
I've never seen anyone spit on a track, indoor or out. You're a pig.

Yes it was a troll. Not that no one db would spit on an indoor track, that happens, but that someone would post that they don't know its wrong to do.

It was a troll. However, spitting is a cultural thing. At the local indoor swimming pool near my mom's house (Vancouver) they have put up "no spitting" signs. Obviously not in English, as it's for a specific immigrant community, but the image of a person spitting inside a red circle with a red line through it. Suffice it to say I left and have never gone swimming at that pool again.
You can google the culture that spits...but spitting indoors or outdoors is disgusting. More so indoors.
Public spitting is disgusting and it spreads disease. Stop it!
OP, would you spit in your girlfriend's house?
Well this is the D3 head coach's house.
