We definitely NEED to add a Winter Outdoor T&F sport.

My friend is running the race and told me about it this morning.

The aim will be an Olympic qualifier. Are there any pacers set up for the race?[\quote]
Yes: There will be a pacer at the Olympic A standard (32:15) and also one that is faster.

Legit question - will the women be running their own race this time, or will they have male pacers?[\quote]
No male pacers. Female pacers.
28:14 SAVE IT

pretty sure male pacers aren't allowed anymore, i think i heard about a rule change a while back.
if there's no male pacer, i wouldn't expect anybody to break 28.
and I saw on Ben's instagram that he definitely is not the pacer. so the question now is: how slow does the race have to be for Ben to win? 29:00? 29:30?
dude. no male pacer IN THE WOMENS RACE. as opposed to the portland race where tara erdmann and hasay tried for the standard with a couple of male pacers. There will absolutely be a male pacer IN THE MENS RACE.

Why wouldn't magness just pace the women..
I agree as long as he doesn't sprain an ankle before the big race.
I see Seidel is listed among the women. Would her 10km time from that race (should she complete it) be allowed for NCAA Outdoor Champ qualification? Or is there a specified time window for outdoor champ marks?
Based on the PRs of the men- I think most will be looking to run 28mid.
Weather looking less good at this point. Decent chance of rain on Sunday now...probably a wet track or even raining during the race. Can they shift it to Saturday?

At this point the forecast for Sunday evening looks kind of perfect. Fairly light winds, temps near 50. Subject to change!
Pretty sure you can't qualify for outdoors during winter. I don't think anyone uses their indoor 5k as a regional qualifier, so I'd assume 10k is the same.

I remember a few years ago, TFRRS kept combining the best of the indoor marks with the outdoor top marks (at least within a conference ranking list - see the 2011 outdoor season here:
https://www.tfrrs.org/lists/1589.html#18) That's why I ask.
But Seidel's would be run on an outdoor track, but it would be December versus March/April/May...

Maybe she's thinking about the Olympic trials?

Is he pacing? Possibly. Is he moving up in distance? Possibly.
Assuming he is racing, how do you guys think he will do? Pace will be 28:00. Not really any fast guys entered, nobody who's run better than 27:50s I think.
entries: men and women

Go Kim Conley go! She's at her home track and well on the comeback trail.
And what's with all those Boston A.A. chicks out there on the Wet Coast?
I'll be honest, I have zero clue how the NCAA does it, but typically I recall usatf and iaaf having a longer window for 10K performances, so should be no reason this doesn't fall into it. NCAA is just as bass ackwards as those org's though, so perhaps they can't see forward enough to open their windows. anyone know with certainty? (perhaps even a link?)
