he ran 29:35 in a 10k. that's really good. that's 4:45 pacei know guys who couldn't break 31 in the 10k in college who are now 2:15 marathnors and 1:03 half marathoners who have full-tiem jobs. this guy is about right as a 3rd/4th runner for a top D1 team29:35 is super good. especially for a soph. He will adapt to the schedule and training and could definitely be a national qualifier for the 10k in track before he graduates. he's near a provisional time already, no?he ran awesome, yes, but not like he was running 32:00 for 10k's before this raceCongrats to Syracuse

He was running against limited competition, in heat and high humidity, probably in windy cinditions- so the times are more impressive than they first appear.

i like how chris fox is quoted in the QOTD saying that Philo never made a state meet. because he made a couple. and went to NXN....

He trained alone throughout all of his high school career and probably has all of his high school records. I too raced Philo in High School, but with my superior upbringing un my petri dish in Saratoga's Kranicks' basement, and my 9 years in the Netherlands for high-altitude training, he was never much competition for me. Glad to see that he's improved in college, he was never good enough before.
