I'll bite.
100mpw the last 4 weeks. Coming off 14:26 5K and 30:33 10K road PRs this season. Looking to win a local turkey trot where I was outkicked last year and take down the 15:02 course record.
Let's freaking go!
Nice! Good luck!
How's the weather looking for y'all? We might get a winter snowstorm. Might have to break out the traction for this one.

Looks to be mid 40s and very windy for mine in northern NJ. Last year was mid teens and windy, so I'll happily take this.

Indeed it is!
Hello, World.
I have taken a very slight taper for the 10k trot on thursday as my club has an important final 5-mile grand prix race the following weekend that ultimately I would like to run better at. However, the 10k trot I'm running cost $75 phucking dollars, so I've tapered a bit for a good showing.
Openly I've told friends and family that I would like to PR and break 39 minutes, however, secretly, I hope to break 38 minutes...
$75.00 for a Turkey Trot 10K!?!?!?
Exactly! That's crazy. Even race day registration here is only $30.

Seaside/Rosemary Beach, Florida. Expensive area. I view it as race registration plus a large donation towards the philanthropy supported by the race, which comes out to a fair bit of money that they donate... being that they charge $65 for the 5k as well lol.
TOMORROW is THE DAY!
Oh man, gotta start carbo loading soon.
Does 'carb loading' really help that much with a run as 'short' as a 10k?
Well, I feel like my training has gone really well. Been doing a TON of VO2min work to build leg speed velocity. Most recent workout was 400 meter repeats. My splits:
2:48
2:46
2:34
As you can see, I really crushed that last one. Thought about doing one more but I was gassed. Btw rest was 4:00 standing.
There were a couple 23-year-old hotties at the track who seemed impressed. They just kept pointing in my direction. I know, I should have gone over and talked to them but I chickened out at the last minute.
So my 4 week training block was SOLID. Weeks 1-2 were base phase, then weeks 3-4 I gradually built my mpw to 2. No issues.
Now all that's left for the 5K 'thon is getting about 11-12 hours in the sack tonight, then getting up early, chowing down, and then drinking 24 glasses of water. Gotta hydrate, man! (I laugh at more inexperienced runners who don't know this stuff. Posers. Get a clue!)
Toughest decision is always whether to go with the Camelbak or the fuel belt. The Camelbak wobbles a bit, but the belt isn't as zexy and can get caught up in my tutu.
So am I in PR shape? You bet! Will I hit that Finish line before they reopen the roads this year? Count on it!!
Gobblegobble!
24 glasses of water? Hope you finish real fast as you'll have to pee 18 times with that much fluid.
Hell ya!! just purchased my vaporflies next % !!! Sub 19;59 tomorrow
Hey guys! i forgot to do any training for my turkey trot. any last minute VO2Max workouts i can do to get in shape in time for the race? I've also been drunk the past 3 out of 4 days. what are my odds of winning?

Given your current condition, a beer mile would probably be the most effective workout for you. There's also that thing about state induced exercise, where you do your best when your race mimics your training conditions. So, you may need to grab a few suds before the race.
As to your odds of winning? That's a question of how mentally tough you are.
