"Time to grow up and spend time on your home and family. I was in similar situation years ago. Wife was starting to get annoyed by my running so I backed off, ran less, stopped racing, worked on my career, bought house, had kids. Life became BETTER when I lost the compulsion to work for PRs. I love my wife. She was right."
This. Unless you are potentially Olympic caliber, it is foolish to expect everyone around you to take a back seat to your running. I saw numerous people make the same mistake back in my 20's and end up losing their wives and never establishing a good career. Now in their 50's and in a dead end job. You can still run but it should be in balance with the rest of your life.
