Whatever.
I've had, let's see, three sit/stand desks, and a few just seated desks.
First sit/stand was just a homemade removable pedestal i built, 2nd was a full-fledged motorized workstation, and the third was a manually operated desktop stand bought off of amazon.
They were all fine,
Also, when i sit, i often use the exercise ball, which tends to activate the glutes.
When i stand, i like to do things like balance on one foot or do some stretches.
A physical therapist i saw for an IT band issue told me the common recommendation is to alternate between sitting and standing, and to do slightly more sitting than standing during the day.
Personally, I don't think the sit/stand desk is anything spectacular, and you can do just fine if you don't have one, but if you don't, I would make a concerted effort to get up and stretch and move around very often.
