"Yes he is. William Price, Troy, Alabama, #19707, 5:28

Did you find a photo of him finishing 4th at 1996 Olympic trials? He missed the team by about 40 secs. Any pic of Greg Price as a pacing partner for Bob Kennedy?

5:28 marathon? This is the same guy who claimed
"....At the time, I held the United States record for the most distance covered across terrain (non-track) in 48 hours – 216 miles.â€
http://www.troymessenger.com/2015/01/31/greg-price-runs-raises-money-for-st-judes-childrens-hospital/I was initially impressed at the finding of the DC Price's irregularities.
However, the Dr Price discovery is really fascinatingly funny on many fronts - really the better 'story.'
Has anyone found a record of the Sampras tennis match? Typically tennis players say "I lost in 3" not "I lost 2 sets to 1."
I think I found the "US T&F endurance race" in cleveland - no sign of any Prices.

Wejo,
Don't you have any pull as a former race winner get all of this guys suspect times looked at and/or taken off the board? Maybe nothing can be done at this point, I don't know.
I know plenty of people on here really want that 2014 result wiped, since he used it to get into 2016 Boston Marathon.
Either way, the BAA will be getting an email tomorrow morning from me with the facts as they stand, including screenshots and letting them know of the 2015 disqualification. While the 2014 result may still be up, they will hopefully see the pattern of behavior and do something about it.
I would like to hear his side of the allegations (are they considered allegations anymore if the race dq'd you from the 2015 race, after being alerted?).

How many liars and cheaters are out there? There seems to be a new thread every week or so. To pull the original MCM course cutter needle from the haystack is amazing. To have another guy with the same name and so many ridiculous claims is either an astronomical coincidence or there are a lot of runners doing this type of stuff.
If you fact check this guy, why not:

To answer your question I'm thinking that there are more cheaters than ever. First we live in an entitlement society where people think they deserve whatever they want. Couple that with social media which has led to the growth of hobby jogging and people get more tempted to create accomplishments to brag about. I'm going to as far and say that most of the difference between BQ and the cut below it is cheaters. It's impossible to catch them all, sure we have found a few irregular splits but that's just scratching the surface. You can't even use Athlinks to catch them all, let's say a 3:20 marathoner gets a friend to run 3:08 for them for example, no way this would even create a flag unless it somehow wins a prize.
Bottom line there are likely more cheaters than we ever care to imagine.

It starts from top like Carson, Ryan and Williams and down the totem pole to Troy, Alabama IT guy. They will probably include this "disorder" in next revision of DSM. It is under the subset of delusion of grandeur but under a new subset because these folks are seemingly fully functioning. Actually, maybe because of it.

That's the beauty of this board.
My find was 100% needle in a haystack. It was pure, dumb "luck" that I found that guy. To think there is another guy out there, same name and (while no cheats that we know of) ridiculous claims is awesome. Had I not found the one, someone would have not found the 2nd one. Brilliant, brilliant stuff. It's why Rojo was talking about writing a story on it.
There was a Price at the 1996 Olympic Trials... in the 200:
I actually think it would be better to have not outed him and followed him next year at MCM with a gopro. Video the cut on the 25k and 30k mats and then put the video up on YouTube.
The penalty of a dq is not a deterrent to these egos there needs to be a fear of getting caught.

Just yell out "Hey buddy, where ya going? The race is over here!"
Both Prices deserve recognition for their achievement. I would love to see the LR story. Maybe a director will pick it up as a movie. MCM Price of course will be played by Denny Glover. Troy Price will be played by Jason Alexander.
Whoa Rayism. You say you are same age as Dr. Greg Price of Troy Alabama and that you graduated high school in 1992. Well, Pete Sampras defeated Andre Agassi in the 1990 US Open final as a 19yo.......so which year and which tournament did Dr. Greg Price head of IT at Troy AL University take a set from Sampras?
I wish you people wouldn't gloss over the tennis aspect of this.
Sampras actually went pro at 16 and did play in some warmup tournaments prior to the US open. This is possibly the most likely true element for Troy Price's story.
However it is also likely the most verifiable via archived newspaper results and tourney records. Assuming it happened.
Also the "ranked" aspect could be checked but they used to rank like the top 800 and even then regional rankings applied as well.
The strangest thing about the Troy Price story to me is why it was ever even a story. Nothing but a self promoting article on an IT guy who is pretty boring. Why run the article at all? Odd.

http://www.troymessenger.com/2015/06/04/ready-to-run-price-talks-marathons-treks-daily-running/2 articles on this guy from the paper. One says he was a 'pacing partner' for the 10,000m 1996 trials (what in the f#ck is a pacing partner), and the other article says he was an alternate for 1996 Olympics in the 5000m and trained in Colorado with Bob Kennedy.....
In 1996 Dr. Greg Price of Troy, AL would have been 22. In 1992 18.
In one article it says he was trying for the 1996 5,000 Olympic team. In the other article it says he was 41 seconds from making the 1996 Olympic 10,000 team. For the Troy University Chief Technology Officer he can't seem to get his facts straight.
I am kinda concerned that you people are glossing over his tennis claims. Taking a set off Sampras is as big a news as hobnobbing with Bob Kennedy.
According to that story, he was a college tennis player at Troy (starting in '92). He suffered a career ending injury right after the Sampras match and after a string of knee injuries he took up slow long running and by '96 (age 21) had qualified as a "pacing partner" for the Olympic team and missed the Olympic "qualifier" (trials?) by 41 seconds. Good progress in 3 years while in college, playing tennis, having knee injuries, and just starting running.
Kinda funny, but a certain running powerlifter with a detached hamstring has more ridiculous claims and his business based on his tales is thriving and we can't even mention him on this board. So Dr. Price, who has no doctorate listed anywhere in his bio, will likely be free to keep running with an IV. Wonder if he ran ultras while at Harvard btw.
