Translation: We were hoping for a multiple fatality 10 car pile-up and all we got was a door ding in a parking lot. But we'll take the phony high road despite our bitter disappointment.

Maybe, maybe not, the whole story ain't come out yet.
Takes the better part of a week to 10 days for marathon photos to be available....but that will nail her once they are available and she has no photos at those checkpoints...Also, didn't Harrisburg have intermediate splits?
transfer of numbers is bullshit

What I believe happened was that another person did in fact wear Britta's bib. This is why there are rules in place about transferring of bib numbers. I fully agree with Meg Griffith. We are running partners and have been training or the Harrisburg marathon for the past few months together and I believe that we have every right to feel 'robbed' of our proper placing. However, I know that in my heart that I, Meg, and all of the legitimate athletes who ran the race and finished know that today no matter how sore we may be getting out of our cars or climbing out of the bathtub, are the true champions. Those who decide to deceive or cheat may get a place medal, but true victory is earned.

This is about right. If you're actually that worried about folks getting their proper age group medals, you can just report the problem to the race director and go on your merry way-there's no need to whine about it on the Internet. My feeling is that for you guys this is more of a self-righteous, holier-than-thou type of thing.
It took me 15 seconds to find her phone number online.
If you want to find out what happened.
Just call her .
Otherwise, shut up.

"Due for release Thursday Nov. 12 at 3:00 PM EST, if not sooner.
Update 11/10 @ 6:20 PM EST -
We have been working to get all photos processed quickly, and expect to have all completed at least a day earlier than the originally projected time. Check back again soon. Thanks!"
Must be all the internet weirdos checking to see if they're ready.
What was her bib number?
http://www.pennimages.com/2015aspireharrisburgmarathonSame woman as in the FB account. 3 pictures on course
My first marathon was a 3:10. Also, the only half I ever ran was with a friend in 1:30. 5 years later, I decided to seriously train for a full and ran 2:35. Am I a cheater?
Case Closed. Looks like it's legit.

No, not at all. (And nice job, by the way.)
But have you seen this woman? That's not a 3:11 runner.
I guess she just felt "on" that day.
Kudos on the big PR, Britta! See you at Boston!
I was one who piled on early in this thread. I now apologize.
Congratulations, Britta. And I apologize.
Apologizing?!! Did you even look at the pictures?
The woman behind Britta, in the first picture, is wearing pink shirt, black tights, and pink compression socks. -http://www.pennimages.com/p855104804/h676321c0#h676321c0
That woman is Jennifer Newcomer, bib #468 -

Jennifer Newcomer finished in .......5:13:04.31 (chip) 5:13:12.81 (gun)
In another picture (link below), you can see a partial view of Britta as she's leaving the photographer's frame, and pictured is another man - Bib #641, that's Brian Sturgis who finished in 5:09:41.17(chip) 5:10:04.65 (gun)

So now it is clear Britta cut the course. She cannot get the benefit of the doubt of absentmindedly giving her bib to someone else. She was running, at more than 5 hour pace, but finished at 3:11.
Don't apologize. Anyone who believed she cheated was right.
Seems pretty clear she ran a short course. No way she's doing it in 3:11 based on the runners around her. But with the lack of any self-promotion or anything else I've heard about like that, it seems entirely possible that she ran the first ten miles (which loop close to the finish), went out another couple and didn't have a good day, said screw it and jogged/walked back, never thinking she would be placed. If so, her only mistake may have been walking over the finish line instead of circumventing it to get to the drinks or whatever. On this one, I vote benefit of the doubt unless there is more to come.

This 100%! Has anyone attempted to message her and get her side of the story?
She isn't hiring a videographer for her next race. I agree.
"LOL"
Looks like you need to take that apology. Those around her in those photos ran over 5 hours for the marathon. Unless she started running 3 min miles she cut the course somewhere. This wasn't a giving a bib to someone type situation. Blatant cheating at it's finest.
