Ah. Though I appreciate you taking the time to run the numbers on both the average time and "team score" of the NY individuals (which happen to prove that the NY boys did NOT have an "awful" day as you claimed they did), allow me to revisit another criteria that, according to you, "people actually care about": the speed ratings of the boys at NXN compared to their regional meet.
Here are the facts:
Two of the five NY individuals did indeed match their SR from the regional at NXN. Only ONE of the California boys was able to do this. NONE of the Northwest runners did. Only ONE from the Northeast did, ONE from the Southeast, TWO from the Midwest, TWO from the Heartland, TWO from the South.
ONLY the Southwest with four fares better than NY in your criteria. Not sure how many times I have to say this, but pretty solid day for New York!
