As a runner for almost 30 years, if I attempted a marathon and finished, no matter my time, I'd consider it an accomplishment. You know nothing about these individuals, their effort, or their obstacles. Persistence and endurance are as worthy of praise as athleticism and achievement.
Hard to knock someone who's trying....
