That apology has since been pulled....makes you wonder how sincere it really was.....
It was quoted in full a few posts down, so you can read it and judge for yourself
Even the apology takes a beating
Oh I read it where it was quoted....Lance was more believable.
here's the apology. judge for yourself
This was all a simple misunderstanding, that was corrected and brought to the attention of RNR by myself before all of these comments. I'm sorry if anyone believes I acted nefariously or with poor intent as that was never the intent. I never claimed any accolades or claimed any of the races as that i was myself running them. In short there was no intent to defraud or deceive.
I apologize and I'm sorry someone who knows me and has worked with me forgotten who I am and what I stand for. You can ask any of my true friends. I am honest, I am a good person and I do not lie, cheat or steal. I am a good coach and have spent many yrs studying the human body to help athletes become better versions of themselves not for me or my ego but for them. I will take the blame if there needs to be blame, that maybe I should have been more on the ball with the results at this past weekends races but to be honest I have been in a cloud of sad since the recent passing of my Dad and my dog. Am I making an excuse? No. I am simply saying that maybe my clouded sadness did not make me focus on the results but rather on the dedicated Tree and Bench on the U of P campus in honor of my father. ( he is alum)
So here again, I will apologize. I will never race another RNR race , I have confirmed with RNR that all results and proper awards have been, and I have explained the situation to the ppl and trusted associated that care about me. They know me and know this has been a bad misunderstanding that should have been handled differently.
I am not worthy of death threats or acts of harm to myself, my husband or my dog. ( too bad the person didn't realize he already passed 3 weeks ago too)
So please...Susanne, Julie and everyone accept my apology. YOU KNOW ME and you know this never happened because I was trying to perpetrate from con or fraud. I fixed as fast as I could but it wasn't soon enough, and for that I can only say I'm sorry.
I would say if reflection something that Golden Harper said to me yesterday , ( I'm paraphrasing )...You have to bleed sometimes to understand whats important and meaningful in life. So now I have bled again, this time not because of a death but because I was part of a misunderstanding... the cause actually if you would. And for that I am even sadder yet hopeful that people maybe read this and know what I say is true.
I was put on this earth to make a difference in ppl's lives and to makes ppl's lives better being a coach. All of this is just another reminded that I need to make sure I hold myself to a better and higher standard , and that I don't make the mistakes again.
I had to join ST to post this and wont post again but wanted to write this apology and say I'm sorry to Susanne and especially to the women in the AG awards. I'm sorry I cause this much anger and this much hate towards me and my family, but I still 100% believe in your more than awesome abilities as athletes and as runners. You will carry on to do much much greater things, just like I used to tell you on a weekly basis. On a side note, thank you for being ever vigilant to cheating. Being honest is the only way endurance sports should be
My heart is sad but hopeful. Be well ( and yes Elvis used my bib ( we should have assured that tour pass at been switched ) at 3 other RNR races and they should have been adjusted accordingly, we never thought of it as anything more than hey you're not racing can I use your number type of situation and for that we were wrong and have made sure it will never happen again. EVER! )
Well, along with the other nonsense in that apology, the "hey, I'm not using my number, why don't you use it" excuse is ridiculous. Why does this woman continue to register for races only to not run them? To give her bib to a faster runner so her results look better, that's why.
She has a TourPass which can either buy you a 3-pack to any races, or a global pass that is good for as many races as you want to do in a year.
Presumably, the money was already spent on the pass and they figured why not let the friend take advantage of it. Of course you aren't supposed to do that.
I assume she was cheating RnR out of payment, so she is banned. That is why she is never running one again.

Slowtwitch has gone soft.
She's not even a coach. She's a "certified fitness trainer" whatever that means. At $200 a month???

There are a bunch of "schools" that offer to train you to become a "certified fitness trainer" (or something like it), if you pay the $500-$1500 in fees and take a test, usually a multiple choice test.
Buyer beware. If you don't want to do the background research and want to pay someone $200 a month, then go for it, however, the reality is it is often cheaper to become a "certified fitness trainer" yourself than to hire one. Bonus - then you can start to make money right away by training others who are too lazy to research your credentials.
Wait wait. You signed your email "Ironwoman". As douchey was the bib switch.
Here is an idea. Train harder, run faster instead of throwing a tantrum on Letsrun and Slowtwitch.
Why do you give a cr@p? Does it affect your running or ironwomaning in anyway? Did you get the pat on the back you obviously needed?
Oh dam looks like Samantha just made her first post on let's run. I think this thread is going to get Interesting.
Samantha, you don't like getting called out, eh?

Huh - so I've wasted all that time doing RRCA, USATF and USTFCCCA courses when I could be charging $200 a month based on a multiple choice test? Now I've seen the light! And the wealth!
Her FB is completely gone now. Just not private. I could see it earlier since I had 5 mutual friends. Yes, she pulled this stunt in Vegas back in 2014 so she had to know what she was doing. Was not just a recent oversight due to her losing Dad & Dog. I am sure RnR banned her for life. I heard back from my contact at RnR and they are on top of it. Her Tour Pass is yanked.
Maybe its just me, but is it not possible that this is in fact just a mistake on her part?
People are ripping her apart for being a cheater, when in fact I think her only mistake was not thinking through the consequences of giving the guy the pass for the races.
A couple of weeks ago I was in a 10K and a woman showed up on the results who was definitely not in the race. Turns out she ran the 5K instead of the 10K she registered for without letting the organizers know. She accidentally and unknowingly was shown as the women's winner of the 10K. I pointed out the error to the RD and timing crew and they sorted it out.
Honest mistake on her part, the winner was elevated to their rightful position.
I see this situation as being kind of the same. Poor planning is not the same as being a cheater, the primary distinction being intent.

Mistake?
I see that, but surely any runner knows giving or selling someone faster their bib skews the results. How could you not know that? Whatever your intent, swapping bibs shows total disrespect for the integrity of event results.
And don't say you planned to notify the RD, but forgot, because yeah, that would get you banned for violating the rules.
Anyways, IMO, this is resolved. The results were corrected and bib swapper admitted someone else ran.

I'd forgive them and would hope OP would too. They came clean.
I see all the time with local running clubs people offering to sell their bibs for the race. This seems to be an accepted practice. It shouldn't be. It is very wrong unless the event allows transfers.
