wondering about this wrote:...BTW, this seems to happen a lot. Most RDs don't care either.I direct a couple races and proof results for one decent sized marathon. We care, as do a lot of my colleagues. Some RDs don't, that pisses me off. In my position, I'd value a report from another runner like this, so I can at least check it out. We try to give finishers the benefit of the doubt, but when the evidence is this blatant it's an easy removal from the results.
Weren't you the one who refused to DQ Kip Litton after it was obvious he cut the course?

You mean this isn't Samantha ? :)

That's interesting. The guy in all black on the left (bib# 1434) is Jared Sweet, who I assume is her husband. I thought the name looked familiar. I live part time in Las Vegas and have seen him at a lot of local races. I believe his times are legit. I don't know the guy who's racing under Samantha's name, but I'm going to look for him at local races. What a shitty thing to do.
So happy to see this couple busted nationally. I live in Henderson , NV and have been aware of Jared Sweet wearing Samantha's bib at several Rock n Roll events. If you look results on Rock n Roll site you will see Jared and Samantha have the exact same time or 1 second difference at several events. Samantha cannot run this pace and in fact there are never any photos of Samantha at said races. They are a blight on the running community. Take a look at the Las Vegas results 2014 and you can confirm the comments above.
This is seriously the next Mike Rossi thread.
She wears Newtons. Now I really hate her.

To "Rossi" a race: drive it instead of running it.
To "Sweet" a race: have someone run it for you.
HOLY SH*T. I'm NOT CRAZY. Thank you so much
Congratulations. These people need to be pointed out. Especially a coach! Cheating coaches or coaches who advocate cheating are pretty low.

I've seen this happen (men running under a woman's name)...but felt people really didn't care all that much. However, from a females perspective it's annoying as heck if it's a big road race and you're trying to run for a place and there is a guy with a beard 3 people ahead of you running under a female name. They probably figure no harm done if they don't accept the award/prize but it does mess up the results for everyone being honest. But to have someone run for you to get a faster time so that you can promote your coaching program is pretty sly. I will say there are some people that are really hard to tell gender wise which make accusations a bit awkward.

People work hard for their results. Anyone caught doing any of the above should have their legs broken.
The beauty of running is that someone else cheating doesn't change your results.
You may not win the award you deserved, but your result is the time you ran and the real competitors you know you beat.
Someone cheating to claim some award doesn't make me angry so much is just seems real tacky.
I kind of feel sorry for these people who can't even get honest validation for their efforts.

Does she she run for Newton? They should be notified of her cheating ways! Cheating is disgraceful especially to lure clients into to think you are some phenomenal coach and runner.

It occurred to me in the car on the way home last night that my Double Letter Cheater Identification Protocol is holding true

That was 5 years ago. Looks like she converted to Altra.
Thanks for this. I ran in than age group and noticed that the previous "winner" listed her estimated finish time as 1:58, so it seemed like a helluva big PR. But then I searched athlinks and saw some similar 1:30-ish range for the woman and thought, ok maybe I was mistaken to be suspicious. I never thought a bit further to the idea she might've pulled this stunt before.
You'd think that with an RnR race with Marathon Foto all over people would know not to use the opposite sex to cheat with your bib.
I know there are more important things to do with my time but later I will post every instance of cheating/ mis-use of bibs.

You know, I missed out on the Rossi thread but I think I'll dedicate the rest of my life to harassing the Sweets until they publicly confess to their cheating.
Update: A brief statement or interview was requested yesterday by Runnersworld. This was my response.
Dear Megan (Runnersworld reporter)
After much thought I have decided that the information provided in the LetsRun
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=6830174
and Slowtwitch
thread speak for them selves.
I strongly encourage Competitor group as a brand that encompasses Runnersworld as well as the Rock n Roll Half Marathon Series to look at the information provided in both threads and do their own detective work and decide how to best deal with this issue. I am extremely pleased to see that the results for this past weekends race in Philadelphia have been corrected. There are several more discrepancies in other races that should be addressed.
Thank you so much for your time and attention

Thank you guys so much for listening and assisting getting some wrongs righted.
So for those of you following... there is an update on Slowtwitch. Actually, an apology.
