Remember at prenats where one of the brojos said beating Wisco shouldn't count for rankings, they weren't really racing? I'm the first guy who said they were racing and just weren't as good this year. You don't go half way across the country for a tempo run. I didn't Wisco to do this spectaculary bad at conference. I don't think they'll even make ncaas now.
Speaking of this, did Robert "Hot Take" Johnson ever come out and admit that maybe he wasn't as informed as he could have been before launching into his rant about this?

I heard that Mick is planning to retire after this year, so his plan is to tank the season so when Gavin takes over it will look like he did a great job turning the team around!
don't be trollin
hacker should just transfer to EC before anything worse happens. maybe then at least one wisco runner will pan out
Does anyone here realize the Greater Louisville Classic was not the PreNats race.
Maybe Barry should take over until a new coach is signed.
How's Chris doing with his marathon plans?
Hiring Barry as a director of track would certainly be a interesting choice for sure. I know Barry thinks he can take the football team over whenever he wants but would be interesting to see how he trains a cross/track team, especially the women. I think he would need to put a couple good coaches in place. This could be one of many former Badgers or even an outside hire. Maybe steal Dave Smith from OK State, Chapman from Indiana, or Metcalf from UW.

Not actually a bad idea. The Eau Claire boys would put up a fight against the badgers right now.
What coaching credentials does Solinsky have other than a continued decline of a once great cross country program at William and Mary? He isn't ready for Wisconsin job.

You kidding bub. Solinsky is not in charge of the W&M program he is an assistant. I'd say keep Mick on, can Gavin, and Miller and hire Sol and Lockhart.

Are you nuts, ignorant, or just have an agenda? Since Miller came the women's team has been improving. Last year they took a leap forward. The women are developing. They were 5th in the Big 10 because 3 of their top 4 are not running this fall. They are getting recuits because of Miller. Your ignorant statement to get rid of Miller discredits everything else in your post.
I think Miller is a good coach but honestly you must understand the axe has to fall at some point. I'd take my chances with two superb former Wisconsin athletes then Gavin and Miller and obviously Mick would still be there. Solinsky on name alone recruits tons of athletes.

Leave the Wisco coaching decisions to those with the brainpower to understand the difference between "then" and "than".

Look how good leaving the decisions to the brainpower did. 8th for the men and 5th for the woman. Time for change.

There truly are some morons posting on these boards. People are so reactionary. Do you have any idea of all of the things that are going on that you have no idea about? A few freak injuries pop up and derail the men's and women's team and all of a sudden they are terrible coaches?
I am completely unbiased and unaffiliated with the program and it's so easy to see the haters come out of the woodwork at any hint of trouble in Madison. Byrne and Miller are most definitely not the problem. Solinksy is the answer? Get. Real.
Wow. Unranked for the first time in my life time. This could be the team that doesn't qualify for Nats.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. This post (http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=6179587), less than 1 year old, talks about how Wisco is going to dominate for the next several years.
Not hating on Wisco. I actually like the school, coach, team, etc. But, man, this is a disappointing season.
I'm kind of rooting for them to run out of their minds (on their home course, by the way) and qualify.
So, earlier today there was a thread about how in light of this result, the brojos probably over-reacted about how Wisconsin ran at Louisville. That thread looks like it has been deleted...
I wanted to see where that conversation went, so I'll ask it here:
How does everyone feel about the Louisville race now? Can you still be upset with that race when it looks like (for now) that Wisconsin actually isn't that good?
If they don't make it this year, we may be looking at a very serious and very pissed off podium contender in 2016. Their roster online says they have no seniors.
