Announcers have now referred to three different athletes in this race as 'The Beast'.
So the are saying the heat and humidity from Worlds may have hurt Kispang but are they acknowledging that Desisa actually finished in Beijing???
Not good analysis if they didn't.
Bib 259 still up there in 8th period online tracker? Who is this guy?
I see Desisa fighting till the end. Not sure Stan or Jeffrey will deny him.

Berhanu Kemal of Ethiopia. He is a 2:13 guy and was fifth at Grandma's Marathon -- one spot ahead of Luke Puskedra -- in June.
Thweatt 2:49 back. Hanging tough. Super impressive.
I'm going to say advantage Biwott- Desisa is being smart and drafting though. They are running into the wind now. Impressed that both of them covered that move, kamworor dropped it hard
can Meb catch Kipsang who is fading?

these boards give both better commentary and splits than the live streams.
I agree. That's why I'm here.
But filling the page with 40 different splits isn't needed. Rojo's updates are spot-on, but the whole string repeated is not so great.
Disagree. The splits show how the race unfolded at a glance, so I don't have to jump back a page to see how folks were doing a few miles back. If you don't wanna read em, scroll down.
They followed up the 4:24 with a 4:31 last mile. So their last two miles was 8;55!!
What shoes are kamworor and biwott wearing? Nike streak?
Women's race at 2:20.
thweatt 7th and running alone.

Idiot.
Announcer characterized kamworor as "big and powerful." Only in the alternate universe of marathons is that true.
Wasn't it in london that kipsang fell far back before giving kirpotich a run for his money in the last mile or two?
Keitany 2:24:29.
So the men's feed is out in the press room. A shame...this race is quite exciting, no?

With a 13-mile warm-up, 7-mile build, and 10k race up 5th Avenue and through rolling Central Park, the dominating World XC Champion is the correct answer.
