Kudos to Allie - great race. However, given that UNM finished as a pack, it is probably the case that their best 2 (Rhona and Courtney?) did not have the green light to really go all out after the leaders the last 2K. Instead they held back a bit. Saw the finish - they were working hard, but definitely not straining like 1-3 finishers.

No one better start talking about eating disorders, Allie just tweeted this a month ago
"Lol at people that think 3 meals a day is enough 😂 #50shadesofhungry" @allie_ostrander Sep 6 2015 8:55pm
I agree. Looking at pictures of her, she just looks like an incredibly small person. Her face looks especially young. But thankfully she does look healthy, no bones popping out or anything. Huge congrats to her today.
Yes - I have a feeling we have yet to see Rhona Auckland really put the hammer down the last 2K of race. She said on Flo that she is looking to peak in Nov for NCAAs and December for Euro U23 title defense.

I think Furman ended up 8th
Furman was 6th doofus
Allie looked fantastic today. Time converts to about 16:00-16:05 5K, which is amazing on that course. Even if Ryen was her best today - I think Allie would have been extremely difficult to beat. Maybe Rhona at her best could have beat her (given 15:2x pb on track?), but we'll probably have to wait for NCAAs to find out.
Great race Allie!
but remember . . .
Bethan Knights of Cal beat the Little O by a lot to win Roy Griak.
Before anyone's coronation, wait until after tomorrow's Pre-Nats.
. . . where Knight vs. Clark/CO vs. Cuffe/Stanford.
Pretty shrewd hunch the NCAA champ(s) will come out of the Pac-12.
Agree regarding Furman. Building a great program quickly.
In case you didn't know, our recap is up on the HP.

definitely worth better than 16 flat...19:19 is literally 16:06 pace, and they went out in just 5:25 so that means she ran the last 5000m in
19:19 - 5.417(0.621) = 15.95 = 15:57
No love at all in the recap for BYU or Michigan? Why do we only talk about how crappy Wisconsin ran!
Funny my handle isn't taken.
You wisconsin and Notre dame guys out there, molly seidel is a catch. Fast, smart and honest. She may not be your double d blonde but she's A+ in all the areas that count.
Whoever Lands her will be a stay at home dad
Allie O will be an incredible marathoner.

Wow peaking in November? What a novel strategy
Annie Bothma of Boise State didn't run today. Lots of LRC posters were concerned about her health after the Roy Griak invitational. People slam LRC, but sometimes good things happen as a result of posts here on LRC.
did Wisco do another tempo run during their home meet or did they run a B-squad?

Because they weren't tempoing their home meet.
Ol' Byrne is a sly fellow. Want people to come to your home meet? Hand out tickets to the big bash.

I noticed that Bothma wasn't raced either. Hopefully she red shirts and comes back healthy and strong next year.
I cannot think of too many more dominating team performances in NCAA XC (at-least more modern NCAA XC post-1990) than what the UNM women did today. Not including team performances that dominated lower-quality meets or a conference/regional meets. This has to be one of the best performances of all-time. It would be interesting to see Brojos analyze/debate this in TWTW. Or just correct me with past results/team scores now!
However, it means nothing if they don't bring it in Louisville. Here's to hoping they do for the purposes of making history as one of the greatest NCAA teams of all-time!
