Liberals make completely illogical contortions to justify their self-righteous efforts not to offend anyone, no matter how few they are, except for, of course, the people (whites, conservatives, Christians) they want to offend.
There is nothing more intolerant than the people who preach tolerance.

It's actually usually Christians who make a point of not celebrating Halloween. At least evangelicals.

But when they don't like something they choose not to celebrate it.
When liberals don't like something they ban it so YOU can't celebrate it.
Please.
Elementary schools in my town don't allow costumes because fundamentalist Christians were offended, and saw it as a celebration of evil. I know of no other group that so vigorously opposes the holiday. Do you?
The Fox News story doesn't bother to go into what group(s) don't want their children to participate, of course, as it might be a problem for their demographic.

Give me an f'ing break.
Where do virtually all requests to have books banned from school shelves, shall we? Here's the 2014 list from the ALA:
http://www.ala.org/bbooks/frequentlychallengedbooks"Anti-Family", "sex education" and "homosexuality" seem to crop up regularly. Hmmm.... what group would say that?

Excerpt below. Fantastic stuff.
"Some Christians, like Hernandez, believe Halloween’s pagan roots can open the door to evil. That’s why Worshipwalk is hosting a harvest festival in its church parking lot on Monday, with kids’ games and face painting.
Hernandez calls it harvesting hearts for God.
Some conservative churches go a step further, attempting to co-opt the holiday with haunted houses - called “hell houses†- that are designed to give a glimpse of eternal damnation in hopes of strengthening faith."
Yeah, some taxpayer-funded events are being eliminated this year due to lack of interest....DAMN YOU LIBS!!!

OMG!! I always was a little spooked by my local haunted house, but I didn't realize I was staring down the throat of eternal damnation! Conservatives, is this true?!?!!?!?

I don't anything wrong with those age-inapproriate books being banned from school libraries.
After reading the link, I'm left with two questions:
- Which group(s) were/are actually offended, or felt excluded by Halloween traditions in school?
- Who actually supports such a school ban, and why?
Seems to me like many American conservatives and liberals alike would not be pleased with banning a fun and largely harmless tradition. But what do I know?
I tried to do a quick internet research, to better inform myself, and all I could find were many articles with the same style of outrage, most often reported by conservative sites blaming liberals. (Except for a Michele Bachman hoax).
It looks to me more like some misguided school authorities mis-reacting in an ill-advised abundance of caution, and many conservative sites not missing the opportunity to blame liberals (as if it were a conditioned reflex) for yet further erosion of traditional American customs.
I did find one ACLU article where they accused a principal (different school but a similar ban ) of over-reacting because he justified a ban based on reasons of not mixing schools and religion. The ACLU said he got it wrong.
Does someone have more information about which persons felt offended/excluded by such traditions, and/or lodged a complaint?
Does someone have evidence of any liberal specifically, liberals in general, or actually just anyone for that matter, arguing the merits of the ban?
I signed the petition. I just don't get why it's the case in 2015 that some tiny minority gets to dictate what the hell everyone else does. Pretty soon Christians wont be allowed to celebrate xmas as it offends the non-religious.
Do you want your country back?
Ironically, Halloween's history is rooted in Christianity; part of All Souls/Saints Day. So I think we have finally found something that offends both Evangelicals and atheists (there have been past complaints from non-believers, too).

Rojo, I certainly don't disagree. But understand that Christian conservatives have tried banning Halloween in their communities citing eternal damnation. So libs are banning Halloween because it offends some religious groups, but conservatives have banned Halloween because they're one of the religious group that's being offended. The OP posted this ignorantly, which is why we haven't heard back from him.
Anyway, the ban's been lifted.
Amazing how someone tries to make this about liberals.

It's not liberals that are doing this, it's social justice warriors. They're like the liberal version of the Tea Party. Most liberals and conservatives are rational people who just disagree on things, SJWs and the Tea Partiers take these beliefs to the extreme and are angry about every perceived wrong.
