Harvard - Paul Gompers 2:15
Gompers ran a world junior record of 2:15 as a freshman at Harvard, but ran faster in later years, including a 2:11:38 at Twin Cities in 1987.(and a 2:14 for fourth place in the 1988 Olympic trials).
Ed Sheehan ran track and cross-country as an undergraduate at Harvard, and later returned to coach there. In between, he ran a 2:13:46 at Rocket City.
One would think that Ric Rojas (Harvard '74 and world record holder at 15K) ran a fast marathon at some point, but his fastest (as far as I know) was 2:20+.
Frank Richardson (M.I..T. '77) was remarkably consistent -- in 1980, he won the national championship (on a slightly short course) in 2:13:54, finished ninth in the Olympic trials in 2:14:17 (point-to-point course), and won the Chicago Marathon in 2:14:04.
