So if i were in say 14:50 shape do you think Wetmore would consider recruiting me? Considering ill still have all 4 years of eligibility and have done good training with appropriate mileage like around 80mpw?

You don't have 4 years of eligibility if you were in community college.
You a Colorado resident, bro?
You don't have 4 years of eligibility you have 2 full years, so 2 each of cross country and track.
I thought that if you don't compete for any schools you keep your eligibility
No but i was thinking about taking online classes and living in CU the year before.
D1 eligibility is based on when you start going to school. From the time of your first semester in college you start your 5 year clock and once those 5 years are up you're out of eligibility unless you went on a mission or get drafted in a special force. Even if you stop going to school you are still on the clock.
Okay so that means i will have 3 years, 3.5 if i take summer classes. What do you guys think the chances would be?

What if you never played participated in a sport - at all?
Well Colorado is great in Cross and just freaking terrible in track best of luck.
If my understanding is correct it does not matter if you play sports or not. It's a 5 year clock from your first semester. For example if somebody started college this semester Fall 2015 their last semester they could compete for D1 would be Spring 2020 regardless of what summer classes they took or if they competed every semester between or not.
I think the first thing you should do is refer to it correctly: The University of Colorado, not Colorado University.

Maybe if you ran 14:50 last week in XC at altitude.
But if you're aspiring to 14:50 on the track this spring at sea level, that's a very different thing.
If you're that kind of runner, I'd try to walk on your state uni.
Depending on circumstances, uou also get more years if you redshirt as well as the graduate transfer (for example, like Jeremiah Masoli did from Oregon to Ole Miss) if you move to a new institution.

Only if you obtain documentation from a doctor that some sort of medical condition kept you out of two different seasons in the same sport (as in XC is one sport, outdoor track is another) can you get one year added on to your "five-year clock" that begins the moment you enroll FULL TIME. Unless you received a religious mission or military service exception. Even then...good luck. It better be a very compelling, well documented and supported case. The smartest way to go about this would be to take a gap year or not enroll full time until a year out of college. The five year clock starts regardless one year after high school graduation...so you do have that year to play with/not enroll "full time."
You do not "get more years if you redshirt" and you do not get more years as a "graduate transfer."
And the simple answer to the OP's question is..."no." Best shot you'd have would be to show up at the Rocky Mountain Shootout, run unattached and then beat some of his better guys. Then hope Mark gives a shit.
Wet more will literally take anyone as a walk on, but good luck keeping up with their training. he'll make you want to quit, and realistically you'll be a very small part of the team, if a part at all. CU isn't some big welcoming open doors program, its 8 elite guys who are barely friends competing against one another to become the best team in the nation. walk ons are just there. Also, recruiting you? clearly you've never done this before. the guy wouldn't even read your emails. you need to get into the school all by yourself then go into his office and ask for a spot. He's not gunna call some nobody on the phone and extend them an offer to be on his team.

*until a year out of HIGH SCHOOL*...not college...my mistake.
Racing is good for you too. People act like if you race at all before nats your leaving your race out on the course. You could also leave your race on the couch or in the mess hall not training at all. Obviously there is some gray area in between where you are better off with a small suv over a mid size sedan but if gasoline keeps falling eventually the struggle in the middle east will only worsen until the weather clears up and the roads have an opportunity to dry up.
14:50 5k or 10k shape? I'm interested in the latter.
What is Colorado University? I've never heard of this school.
