I'll go with Herb Lindsay. Best 10 miler the US ever produced. Heck, he can still beat half the field. Herbert is a beast!

What about parker stinston. He's been working hard. Top 5 finish. Samm c winning it- kenya über alles

I would throw Jimmy Spisak into the mix. He seems to fly under the radar but he's great at staying with the lead pack until the end of the race and is improving. Look at his previous USATF championship performances

250ft. climb over miles 4-6.5, about a 1% gradient.
Sharper kickers in the beginning, 7-8% for 100-200m
This is the old course for what its worth. First three miles are different and a fair bit hillier than they used to be. Which is why the 46:35 record is more than likely safe -
Spisak's a good runner, but until he learns to finish, he's going to have a hard time winning against this quality of competition. He needs a training group, coach and a sponsor. Running and training by youself is tough enough, but having to work a full time job also, is asking alot.

Ritz is due but unless he pushes from farther out he will get out kicked again just like the 20k and 5k. He has had a lot of 3rd's lately going back to USA Cross Championships. He never seems to run bad and is only just starting to get in shape.

"Learns to finish..."? He runs what he is capable of running. -

UGH! Wish I could get back to bed. How can you fall back asleep after being up & about & getting urinated off that you can't watch a race you were psyched up for?
