Ritz drops all but one person and then gets outkicked. Probably Chelanga or Ward.

My predictions:
Men (I think the men will finish within 10 seconds of each other and it'll come down to a close finish again between Ritz, Ward, and Pennell)
1st Ritz
2nd Ward
3rd Pennell
4th Riley
5th Grey
Women (Huddle will take it out and win going away. 2nd group will form with the Bawcom, Gracey, and Nelson staying close to the finish)
1st Huddle
2nd Bawcom
3rd Gracey
4th Nelson
5th Goucher
Course Profile in the lower left corner:
https://www.tcmevents.org/_asset/xf7kg5/10-Mile-Course-Map.pdf
250ft. climb over miles 4-6.5, about a 1% gradient.
Sharper kickers in the beginning, 7-8% for 100-200m
I like Ritz's chances at breaking almost the entire field up that steady incline. I'm calling-
Ritz- ftw
2. Ward
3. Chelanga
-Pennel possibly up in the mix. The last 6-7 miles are on the same route where he won twin cities marathon last year
My prediction: Ritz & Ward battle it out over the last 200m. Ritz for the win. Chelanga is a good 20m back. Fernandez is 5th/6th.
I think Amy Cragg gives Huddle a good scare. Huddle wins by 6 seconds in the end. Bawcom for third.
Your predictions are almost the same as mine with one exception. Megan Gothals has to be in the top 5. She looked great at Cherry Blossom this year. I believe she was close to 54:00 once they added the time for the course change.
Man, when will Ward get the credit he deserves?
Ward FTW.
Ritz
Chelanga
This.OP, thanks for starting the thread. It's hard to find anything with all of the political threads.

Not really an incline. Barely a false-flat. I'm not sure what other courses you're familiar with to compare to, but the last 2 miles at New Haven are 2-3%. Also less than the net slope at CIM. Imagine mile 2 of Grandma's marathon in the opposite direction.
Any breaking will happen on the ramps.

I don't understand this meme. Can someone older than 18 explain/justify this position?
I've run the course, it's definitely an incline. thanks.

Craig Lutz is sweeping the nation by storm
TC 10mi is incredibly hilly, going into and out of the Mississippi River Gorge multiple times.
Check out the elevation profile posted earlier. Also the last 2 miles are not 2-3% at new haven 20k, they are net downhill. Even if you are talking before that, the highest point is 71 ft at new haven. This 10 miler climbs like 250ft just in that one section. That is not equal to the average drop of CIM, it's roughly equivalent in feet, but over 2.5 miles not 26

I agree Jared Ward is not getting the respect he deserves..
He was literally the third person mentioned in the thread in terms of being in the mix, and nearly everyone who has listed multiple people has included him.
Some people will complain about anything.
Right there with ya buddy
