Here is the facebook page for the group and the event black marathon. I think positive comments form the LetsRun community to encourage a positive event and not a negative could possibly make an impact. show them what a real community that does positive is like!

Dissenting voices were deleted overnight. In addition, even white SUPPORTERS of BLM have been told that BLM is NOT interested in hearing about their alternative suggestions for a less disruptive protest.

No, seriously, even educated african americans don't like black people that partake in stuff like this.
This black thing has gotten out of control... go deal with black on black crime first. Get jobs, stop acting like thugs.
Go to harvard
become president
80% of Black Lives Matter Protesters in New York were white and I was one of them.
You are an American hero Randy Oldman. A true white savior. I bet you are a fan of films such as Dances With Wolves and The Blind Side.
Just curious, but what happens once the BLM group tries to follow through? I imagine that they have already decided to shift their protest site somewhere else on the course.
So...100 protestors walk onto the course. Do the police have the right to physically remove them, and if so at what point? Does a physical altercation have to happen before they are removed, or can they be forcibly removed immediately? If a runner tries to break through the human chain, is he guilty of assault?
Would love some insight from the boards. I imagine there are a lot of race directors watching this closely as it develops. If the BLM protestors are successful in generating publicity by "shutting down" the finish line of a large marathon, copycat protests are likely at other large races.
To whoever said that they don't believe the protestors are planning on disrupting the race...think again:
ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) — The group Black Lives Matter says it plans to ‘become the finish line’ at next Sunday’s Twin Cities Marathon.
The group’s St. Paul chapter says it will protest and stop runners from crossing the finish line near the end of the marathon. Protest organizers call it the perfect place to disrupt the activities of thousands of people.

At this point whether they follow through on not, I have lost much respect for the leaders of this movement. To try to penalize innocent people when they are at their most vulnerable is beyond loathsome.
This in an instance when black leaders need to step up and condemn this act proactively.
Cowardly plan.
This makes my blood boil. These BLM a-holes shutdown major highways here in Boston last year detouring ambulances from hospitals. They should all just be shot right on site. White, Black, doesn't matter. Remember what happened last time they tried to block the streets in MN? A hero drove right through the crowd...

The real question is: Why did you have any respect for a racist organization in the first place?
You folks are so easy to manipulate, to be honest (which I rarely am), I thought it would be harder.

After the Boston bombings, I imagine the police have every right to remove them by force as quickly as possibly. They're not going to take that risk again.
I personally will be racing, and promise you this. If anyone is in my way, they will end up on their rear end. Period. And any charges against me would be met with a lawsuit on multiple accounts.
The reason this is happening is because of idiotic mayors like Hodges and Chris Coleman turning a blind eye, even enabling these protestors to disrupt the lives of normal people. They should have shut those morons down the first time they marched on onto f'ing 35W and caused traffic to be diverted. By allowing their protests to continue they set themselves up for this. I'd be curious to hear Jacob Frey's take on this - a formerly elite marathoner turned Minneapolis City Councilman who has taken part in protests like these (for different causes) that shut down streets.

Yeah, the truth hurts, doesn't it?
This needs to be taken very seriously. What if this starts a trend for all BLM organizations to protest every big city race? Twin Cities and the city of St. Paul need to set a serious precedent on this one.

Seriously, it would be much better if everyone (black or white or biracial) just stopped comments designed to escalate tensions. Race baiting is not cool and it makes you sound like the white Awa.
Hopefully most ignore comments like yours. Ok
BLM's organizer Turner said he "hopes the runners will join the protest".

You acted stupidly.
