Maybe friends and family of the racers should bring pepper spray. If people trespass on the course and try to interfere with runners, spectators should be prepared to help out.
Its what a good citizen would do.

The NIMBY attitude of you runners is disgusting. You're all in support of BLM as long as it does not inconvenience you. As soon as it begins to affect your race, you disagree with the movement.
That's (one place, among many) where you're wrong.
I'm NOT in support of BLM.
Now go cry about it on tumblr & twitter with the rest of the SJWs.
+1
If you wear one of these shirts, will you still be stopped?

BLM is basically just cultural marxists wearing blackface. They have as much to do with redressing alleged police brutality against blacks as the gay marriage movement was about the "right" to marry within a societal subgroup notorious for its disdain for monogamy and marriage. Always look beyond the sound and the fury for the larger agenda.

I'm running the 10 mile and then doubling back to watch the marathon runners. I'll be taking pictures of any idiots wearing confederate flag singlets and then posting them here so we can publicly out you backward racists.
I don't agree with the BLM protest, but your response is more disgusting.
In your fanny pack, don't forget the pepper spray!
I am sure if they show up as planned they will disrupt the race. There are always a few bad apples out to f things up for everyone. I doubt they will block the race because that would call for lots of pepper spray hopefully. Thanks for the advice, I just ordered a small spray bottle.
If you run spartan races do you really think you will make it to the 25 mile mark in time to see the protest?
What is this groups REAL agenda?
They do not protest when the victim is not a criminal, example an 8 year old black girl was shot while selling girl scout cookies in Indianapolis last year, no protest, a couple of weeks ago cops shot a criminal who shot at them first at a crackhouse, big protest for that, a few blocks away on the same day a 9 year old girl I think her name was Jemyla Bolden was doing homework in her bed, when some idiot/s came by and fired shots into her house and killed her, no protest.
I cant thin of any case this group has been involved in where they were not supporting a criminal, Michael Brown had just robbed a store and was out on bail awaiting trial for 4 other felonies, Freddie Gray arrested at least 20 times previously for selling drugs, Samuel Dubose had 73 previous arrests, heck getting rid of those guys is probably doing society a favor, saving many from being future victims and saving taxpayers from having to support them in jail, Yes I know there is a process that has to be followed.
I never hear about law abiding black people being beaten harassed by police, example you don't see stories like Dr. Ben Carson was getting the morning paper from his driveway when cops drove by drew their guns had him get on the ground and arrested him, then let him go saying they had mistaken identity, or Sherriff David Clarke was driving in his personal car without a uniform on, so cops stopped him and ruffed him up.
Given the examples I believe the cops are NOT targeting blacks, they are targeting Criminals.
If cops were targeting law abiding, I would be all with it, but this group seems to only be supporting criminals.
There has to be some other agenda, expecially with a billionaire named George Soros having already spent 33 million and he is apparently willing to pour Billions into this, so what is the REAL agenda.
I mean wouldn't the incidents with police basically stop if people would just stop committing crimes?? isn't it as simple as that?

Let Them Finish member wrote:Where did you see that. Everything I have heard from the protest organizer has said they "intend to be the finish line". Sounds exactly like they want to impede runners.
OK, I checked back and this is what they said, ""We don't plan on having any physical contact with runners, but we do plan to make ourselves the finish line," said Turner."
Its seems a bit contradictory what they are saying but I was thinking it meant at the finish line but not impeding and leaving room for runners to run by.........I guess.
They are not planning on having any physical contact with runners. But runner may initiate physical contact by trying to run through the human barricade.
In other words, they will blame the runners if there is any physical contact.

Exactly what you're saying never happens to law-abiding black Americans just happened to retired tennis star James Blake.

Right, if any runner hits/kicks/runs over someone, the runner could get arrested for assult.
They can be the cause the problem, then cry as the victim. Pretty great isn't it. Basically it'll be like running through a bunch of eight years olds.
Runners, especially the ones with smelly poopoo-shorts, should just get as close to the protesters as possible with arms lifted, and they'll leave the course fairly quickly.

No problem with that as long as you take pictures of those blocking the racers and posting their picture too.
After the Boston Marathon terrorist attack by a group who felt their people were killed by the US government, this choice of the Twin Cities Marathon to disrupt and protest because a group feels its people were unjustly killed is a very bad one.

Shutting down NYC Marathon after Hurricane Sandy was both a political and practical issue. A lot wanted the show to go on, but they mayor/politicians decided it was too risky. Boston was purely maniacal but with a terrorist-political bent. The planned disruption by BLM is purely political.
The age of innocence for big time marathons is over.
Once my wife finishes the 10-mile and I get her on her way, I will be heading up to support the runners of the marathon and do whatever I can (legally) to prevent people from blocking the runners.
If for whatever reason my efforts are useless, I am planning on bringing a backpack full of items to help the tired runners. Fruit Snacks, Salted Nut Rolls, etc. since they will be unable to make it to the finish where these items would be provided.
Anyone else who is as passionate about the support for the runners I encourage to do the same. Anyone else who may be out there to help I also plan on bringing a standard two-way radio to communicate with any other supporters. BLM is not saying where they plan on disrupting so we would need to be mobile to support the runners. I don't want to give out a channel on the internet out of fear someone will try to block it, but if I see you out on the course lets pick a channel to use on the radios, mine will be out and visible. I am going to plant myself near mile 25 unless things move.
Lets go runners!

Are you kidding? Spartan races are great. I am a 2:23 marathoner and I get my arse kicked on Spartan courses all the time. I run them for fun with friends. It is a completely different kind of workout. Imagine running through a ropes course. Just because you are fast over a 10k doesn't mean you'll win a ropes course race.
Lots of fast runners run Spartan races and other things like that. It is just fun.
