St Benedict's is the high school in nj that got Edward cheserek from Kenya during hs and he broke tons of records in hs before dominating in college. They have a senior now named Edwin rutto, also from Kenya, who could very well be the best kid in the state. However, even more impressive, another guy from Kenya named Ronald kigen who just started at st Benedict's ran a 15:50 as a freshman last week, almost beating a 4:11 miler and his seasons just getting started! Ronald kigen is going to be HUGE, on a king ches level, so watch out.
I run for the AGSTC (Adidas Garden State track Club) and they came on a run with us once, now, I admit, I am not in the best shape, yet, but I do my runs under 7 minute mile pace. They came for a Sunday long run, and I remember hearing about this kid named Edwin rutto from St Benedicts and hearing how he was fast, well I thought nothing of them running with us. We start the run at 6:40, great, not too bad, we bring it down to 6:20 and I'm getting tired and this Edwin kid hasn't broken a single drop of sweat yet, I'm covered in a pool of sweat, and after 4 miles of that I was done, I turned around and completed 8 miles and was beat. The kid Edwin ran 16 miles at around 6:20, and he wasn't even tired, he is 6'1 and skinny as hell, probably around 120-130 pounds. I am 6'0 and 160, you can imagine how fast this kid is......he is going to kill it this season.
