nonsense
he got appalling pacing for that 1k
he was at 1'46.1 thru 800 when anyone with a clue knows a serious attempt at 1k wr has to go thru in 1'44+
he finished with a 26.9 !!
that shows huge unused energy at 800 point
rubbish pacing cost him a time no worse than 2'12-flat
nonsense
as told repeatedly, this track has a 44.3 record post-'00
run by lashawn who run 43.9 twice in same year !!!
explain how track can be crap for 400 but super-fast for 1500 ???
as for tracks from 30y ago, it is laughable about their slowness
iaaf have had speed limits since at least '91 & probably before
these are not even but fairly even
he is also nowhere near his '12 shape of 1500 where capable of 3'26+ in london shape
maloofi's current 800/1k shape is close to '12 but his 1500 is nowhere as good as '12
nonsense
he split 54.0 which is about same as Asbel this year but coe's backed off to 58.0 on 2nd lap which allowed some recovery, then a 56.1 to 1200, which isn't fast, & 55.4 last lap which is bare expected
er ???
what do you expect with no serious opposition in the race ???
no
coe's best 1500 shape was '86
he'd built up years of endurance by then which more than compensated for his drop in 800 speed
laughable !!
i didn't see hicham having any problem running 3'26.00 with no one close
nonsense
it appears you didn't watch the race
- he starts of running wide in lane on 1st bend ~ 2.2m extra
- 2nd bend mostly in lane 2 & then dipping into 1 ~ 3.0m extra
- 3rd bend wide in lane 1 ~ 2.2m extra
- 4th bend very wide in lane 1 ~ 2.5m extra
- 5th bend is in lane 2 or in line, easily ~ 3.0m
- 6th bend again very wide in lane 1 ~ 2.5m extra
that's ~ 15.4m extra in a 1500 or 1515.4m in 3'34.0 =
3'31.8
for route-1 with brutal kick on last lap
nonsense
there is if you look at extra distance run which you didn't
laughable !!
there was nothing wrong with kenyans except that they had changed coaches in training camp & ran sub-par
everyone else whoud been assumed to have been in shape of their lives
he beat 2 guys who have since gone 3'28 & 3'29 & they weren't kids back then
they wouda been very, very close to career best shape & they got slaughtered
no
they blamed change of coaches & training for poor show with little long runs & more sprint-work for poor show
no
Asbel wouda won by coupla meters if maloofi had been in london shape this year over 1500
clueless
no account of his extra distance
how clueless are you ???
12.4 effort on back-stretch in an intrinsic 3'31.8 is incredible !!
that is 49.6 pace !!!
he still runs next 100 in 12.9 or 51.6 !!
that pace alone for 400 wouda won the race on last lap
he clearly eases off in last part of homestretch so 14.0 finish no way represents his last 100 effort
he had some more tenths to shave off if pushed but had destroyed this field by 1300m
clueless
he had destroyed field by 1300
he cruised in in homestretch
no
try more like 3'26+
clueless
no one peaks for circuit meet when games is coming up
i doubt he took any break from training for that run & used it as just part of his training with no serious break
laughable
then explain why it's post-'00 400 track record is crap 44.3 by lashawn who ran 43.9 twice elsewhere in same season ???
how is track crap for 400 but super-fast for 1500 ???
clueless
you clearly can't read or watched the race
he pushed aman to the limit after jogging the initial 200 in 25.4 & making outrageous move to get upto aman at bell
this was same aman who had something to prove after games & ran 1'42.4 in miserable wet zurich outlasting the King
aman was in likely 1'42-flat shape post-games in good conditions & just edged maloofi who had run a ridiculous race off a jog & plenty of wide running on bends of ~ 6.5m extra
just the wide bend-running wouda got him 1'42-high & that's not considering the jog of a start which just threw away huge amounts of time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqBD8OVDJDche had long lost his peak shape by then & stockholm 800 was his only good effort
as for zagreb, he looked heavy-legged in last lap & you don't seem to have a clue that pacer only got him thru in 2'35.6 which is no chance of anything fast, perhaps a 3'30/3'31 effort which he clearly wasn't interested in or had shape anymore
you need 2'33 for any chance of a 3'28 or better
clueless
the one race that counts, london, did
you really have no clue about the sport ?!
you can do if that 3'30 was run in middle of heavy training with no break whatsoever for the race apart from travel there & back to camp which i assume was not far away as monaco is northern mediterranean
clueless
it is if you have given up all serious training by september & celebrated mostly since winning unexpected gold
he has admitted all of '13 was a write-off as he didn't train seriously for it, still celebrating his gold
his last good race on vestiges of london shape was stockholm & he looked in 1'42-flat shape there considering ~ 6.5m extra run & jogging to 200
nonsense
it's totally possible
nonsense
try more like 3'26+
nonsense
he was a good 2s shy of his '12 london shape this year over 1500
nonsense
nothing close to a 12.4 split in it
he had no opposition with a sick ovett, an injured cram who only ran 3'33 that year & pathetic 1'46.0sb
maloofi had guys who he expected were in 3'28 & 3'29 shape, possibly even in 3'27 shape & crushed them all
that was impressive but not greatly
coe was good for a 1-off 3'29-low that meet in ideal conditions in a zurich or brussels
utterly clueless
he knew he was facing a guy who had brace of 1'41-flats off no effective drafting & who looked to all intents in better shape in '12
maloofi, even in likely 1'42-flat shape had no chance of gold, whereas if he'd been in '84 he wouda given cruz a good race & got silver
maloofi had no chance of gold in 800 in '12 & it was huge mistake to even enter 800
if coe had entered the 800 in '12 in '84 shape or any year shape, he wouda been utterly crushed & in no shape to run a 1500 later in games
