Fat man on bicycle cuts a lot of wind.
Running start easier than standing start. Inertia.
Jogging for five or six days is a great way to peak for jogging on the sixth day.
Stating your date of birth does not add credit to an argument.
The fastest white boy at 1500m is the world record holder at 1500m. His 800m best was quite slow considering.

Cacho ran 3:28.95 and he was a blue blood Spaniard. Whiter than white on rice.

Based on my calculations, that workout indicated he was ready for a 2.13.09 1000m.

I dunno what you people could be arguing about. That workout is damn near the most impressive thing I've seen. Firstly, the 800 was sub 1:45 in non-race conditions. I don't care if he was paced or not - you always perform better when you're all psyched up for a race. Doing that in training is impressive. Annnnd - he clearly accelerated on the last 200. He had fuel left in the tank to push that last 200 hard on the 800. Unbelievable. Then with all that lactic in his legs, he ran the rest of the workout at pace. Ridiculous.
He must be on some fantastic sauce. -

First of all there is no "lactic" and he was taking long rests. between reps. -

When you see him clowning around losing races at that pace while barely taking a deep breath then yes, it probably is pretty easy for him.
BTW Lactate, not so much lactic acid -

That's the secret then, clown around, and don't use lactate. -

Well if you're fit enough, that is correct. -

Great! That's what I'll do from now on. -

Great! That's what I'll do from now on.
But you clearly aren't fit now so you'll have to postpone those plans. -

Too late! I'm already well on my way! -

Are you done yet? -
It was timed on an iphone? That's not accurate.

We all know the particular guy: he races his workouts and drastically underperforms at meets when contrasted with workout times. Hard to pin that on the Olympic 1500m champ, but is it possible that he is a workout warrior? 1.44 as part of a workout compared to his 800m pb is not significantly different.

I once ran an 800m TT that was hand timed a hair faster than any race I ever ran. Felt almost effortless.
Might not be that surprising if quite a few elites could actually do similar if they chose to.
Most people seem to avoid direct race type efforts in training. it can be pretty depressing some days to put in a really hard effort and have a dismal time to show for it. -
My two fastest 800m times were solo time trials, running starts, as tune ups for 1500m races a couple of days later, 1.50 and 1.51. My official pr is 1.52.95. This was before I moved up to the 5km, a better fit for my lack of speed. Maklufi's workout is impressive but what do you expect? He's the Olympic 1500m champion.

Workout warrior? The guy ran the 5th fastest 1000m shortly after this workout!

why? is there a software bug affecting IOS that makes them unable to keep time?
