A few days ago I seen a kid that is about 6'8" or 6'9" run cross country. I think he ran 21 something or other. I dont know about you guys but he is definitely the tallest kid I ever seen compete in a cc event.

Bball player run X-country for conditioning so I've seen quite a few tall guys.
I have a D1 teammate who is 6'4 and runs low w6 8k. Much more of an 800 guy
I ran high school cross country and I am 6'9", so probably me.
That Florida state guy though from a few years ago is 6'10".
I forget the name of that Florida State guy but he was pretty fast, like low 29:00 10ks or thereabouts. Colgate had a 14:00 5k guy who was like 6'6". Also, that fast steepler from Adams State is pretty tall.
In 1974 Hughes High in Cincinnati had their basketball team run XC. Quite a sight at big invitationals, half a dozen tall brothers rocking big fro's running in red Chuck Taylor high tops engulfed in a sea of whiteness. FWIW, they had a great hoop season that year.
Jack Bacheler was almost 6'7".
I think Brad Miller (NBA) ran in high school, not sure if he was 7 ft then or not. I'm thinking not.
Well, I never saw him but it's well known that Wilt ran XC in high school.
Probably 6'8" or so. That dude was JACKED, too. Easily 240 lbs or so. Broad shoulders, massive chest, wide back...He also looked like he had really strong arms. The other runner were quite intimidated by looking at him.
Needless to say the chicks were all super impressed. But he was nowhere to be seen afterwards, I think he gave up running and focused on lifting and basketball playing.
See Chamberlain's quote about running high school XC about 1/3 of the way down this old article.

Our Jr. High team has an 8th grader who is what I believe to be as 6' or 6'01''.
6'8" Weldon Johnson.

6' 8" He was a patient of mine and ended up running 4:10 for the mile later at East Carolina. Only started running xc in hs for basketball.

I am not trying to be a jerk. I am just trying to help you out.
Saying, "I seen a kid..." makes you sound like a total idiot. You should have written, "I saw a kid."
But this is a good thread. We had a kid on our High School XC team that was 6'6". I also had a guy on my college team that was 6'4".
How tall was Rexing? He must have been north of 6'6" when he was running for ND. He was always leading with a small pack of Africans from schools like Liberty and UTEP, which made him look even bigger.
Jackson Ruto who represented Kenya at the 1989 X country. Looked at least 6'5"
The colgate guy was Chris Johnson- he really was huge, just ate up real estate. I'm not sure if he still runs.
Maksim Korolev from Harvard/Stanford is also pretty tall (and very good at XC). I guess we would have to include Kiprop as well (seeing as he is incredibly tall compared to most, and very good at XC)
