Great to see a 5000m race that didn't dawdle and got to the bell under (just under) 12:00. Too bad Rupp and the others couldn't handle sub 13 pace. I'd still bet that Rupp could have run a very good 10k today. Maybe his training/fatigue just have not put his legs in shape to handle low 60s/lap. My bet is that he will lose to Kipsang in the 10 miler but run a fast time, because he can certainly handle running close to 4:30 per mile for ten if not too tired in advance. Congrats to Hill on his breakthrough. We saw that Kejelcha had around 26 close in a 12:53, enough to beat Hagos, and so surely can run high 12:40s this year. If Mo had been in the race, probably he would have jumped into the lead and slowed the pace, but it would have been good to see him make an attempt at a fast 5k for the first time since 2011.
