Tired of Shannon Rowbury Antics

Jenny was clearly not trying to impede Ms. Robury. But I am not blind and what CRACKED ME UP was when Ms. Rowbury after she finished, did an exaggerated slide-long glance toward Jenny.

This year American distance runners have aspired primarily to beat each other, whether the arm pumps are in the women's 1500m/mile, the men's 5000m, or the men's steeple. It would be great to see ours step up to the next level in 2016 in the way so many others from other countries managed to do at World's this year. Simpson just crushed Rowbury by 4.5 seconds in a 3k. If Rowbury weren't drafting off of her here, at Monaco, and other races, it would have been Simpson all the way. Rowbury hasn't done well when she doesn't draft.

Jenny won't let her. She has that leader mentality, I'm the best american kind of attitude. Shannon is just trying to run a good time and beat as many runners as she can. Jenny isn't the only runner out on the track. I think a better question is why doesnt jenny just fall back, wait and kick like shannon.

NOP scandal....now everyone equates Shannon with Rupp on LRC...and we know how that goes....

Also don't forget that Jen's teammate, Kara Goucher, ratted out NOP and Salazar....so I am sure by association it has become a major priority to beat Wetmore's best athlete, Jen and anyone else from that group...

I love the drama that NOP has with the Schumakers group (indoor drama), Mackey's Brooks group (outdoor drama) and Dennis Barker's group (usatf indoor Grunewald incident).....so much free entertainment

Wow, I wasn't aware of this. I don't disrespect Jenny for losing heart, but Shannon really was a lion in that one. Sub-60 with one shoe!!!

For all the Rowbury bashers, where do you see Simpson's clearly superior times and range over the years? With the exception of steeple prowess, its simply not there. Simpson has some medals, but I think Shannon feels very good about her body of work, her range, and talent level, and 2016 is looking good for her. She's been running super consistently and relatively injury free since she was at Duke, way way back over 12 years ago.

Simpson does not have superior times. Rowbury is faster at 800m and significantly faster at 1500m and 5000m

I think Shannon started losing fans with her antics last year in the 2014 USA 5000 meter final against Huddle, followed up by her being real bitter and vocal after losing the 2014 Diamond League Final to Jenny. Those events combined with her kind of refreshed aggressive persona this winter and then the NOP scandal haven't helped.

How is it "antics against Huddle"? It is just a simple tactic.

You say, "wrong, wrong, wrong," but the fact is that at World's, Huling pumped his arm at the finish when he went by Jager at the end, Hill was hugely pumped and angry looking at USA's when he beat Rupp and others, True pumped his arm when he got past Hill as first American yesterday, and Rowbury/Simpson order has been pretty much the main picture for the two of them during this year in which they were surpassed by a lot by other 1500m runners--look at Rowbury when she finishes just ahead of Simpson yesterday, for instance. Go back and look at the tape of each of their finishes. Rowbury/Simpson have been diving at the line against each other since last year. And I like the competitiveness, but let's step up against the world, and if that means rigging at the end, so be it, but go all the way to the wall to try to win instead of saving it to outkick your compatriots.

I am not a fan of Shannon at all. I am team Jenny. But Shannon has been impressive this year, very impressive. She's for sure happy to have the AR and been beating Jenny lately. But she needs to remember a couple things before she really starts to think she's the sh*t. Jenny has a gold and silver at world's, compared to just a bronze for Rowburry. Also, Jenny won USA's this year which yes is a big win for the head to head column. That being said, next year will be a big year for the rivalry. I also couldn't care less about what happens tomorrow for whoever wins because it is meaningless

I admire Shannon Rowbury's tactics taking advantage of her great finishing speed. I also love her .
