Splendid color comes to everyone's neighborhood. It's not unbearably hot anymore. It's a nice vivid show of nature before the bleak death and short days of winter. Does this actually have to be explained?
It's not the autum colors (not colours) that Americans enjoy but the appreciation for the parallel occurance of cooler temperatures and lower humidity bringing a level of comfort to fall marathon training. However the changing foliage does make for fascinating brackgounds for cross-county action photographs.

It's a wonderful phenomenon in nature.
America, Canada, & East Asia gets the red fall color. A large portion of Europe only gets the yellow fall color & less variance in colors overall.
