I have ran 1.06.00 for the half this year so do you think i have a good chance of beating HALL in the GNR? I will be right on the front line at the start of the race so it should be good!

Kamworer has plenty of road experience. He's the half marathon world champion, and has excellent performances on the road from 10K to marathon.

There are a couple of other strong guys in the race who could contend for the win: Stanley Biwott and Mike Kigen. Forget Hall.

really annoying mo keeps running this worthless race
rieti is on same day
it wouda been better for his "legacy" if he'd taken a shot at 7'17 / 7'18 in rieti on that day instead
Except he has no chance for that.
Running a 7:27 won't really help hi legacy.
I agree Sambu is a great runner, but we don't need to keep making the comparisons. The Kenyan 10k team was loaded. Sambu might have had many valid reasons for not being in the Worlds discussion.
Hall ran LA for the same reasons Mo is running the Great North Run. It's necessary to keep his home fan base and sponsors happy. The problem with LA is those weren't ideal conditions to run a good race. Hall's wife gave it an honest effort and regardless of possible rookie mistakes ran a decent race on a hot day, but her time will get retold in a vacuum and be a somewhat inaccurate representation of her marathon ability.
If Ryan Hall is never relevant again, then I'm still grateful he was ever relevant at all. His early career is an indication he could be relevant again, though. The US marathon team is going to need to find some real answers once Hall, Ritz, and Meb are out of the equation.

Good points.
Its sad to think a masters runner, has been Hall and Ritz the "I could have been a contender" are considered top of the heap. The fall off is steep to the next level of possible world class contenders, we have none. Top american is a sad statement of acceptability of performance standards thats seems to be the goal of young american men.
Hall at the great North Run? Its appearance money, he is well liked and known in the UK from his London marathon races.

Reading comprehensions is not one of your skills. Sambu lead most of the race he ran in 26:54. Now, how much of the race did sit-and-kick Farah lead when he ran 26:50?
Did you even watch either of these races? In rupps race there were two folks (sambu and another)swapping the lead in the latter stages. With sambu taking over more towards the end. Yes sambu did pacing but he didn't do anything remotely like pace the last 5k
Farrah was pushing the pace and alternating leading the last couple miles, because the pacers sucked
Trust me, Ryan doesn't care what you think about his running and cares even less about your local 5k victory with a field of 19.

Do you guys think Hall will run a fall marathon ahead of the trials? He could probably do Chicago or New York given this time table. I know Meb is slated for New York, and Hall did Chicago in 2011.

Don't underestimate Sambu
he paced Rupp to 26:44 last year, and held on for 26:54ish. I doubt Farah has that capability.
he's run 27:20s on the road multiple times, ran 60min for the half FTW in a BAA half.
He's my favorite if there's a Farah upset. I'm not predicting that he will beat Farah, but if anyone can do it, it's him.
Doubting that Farah can run 26:54? Already ran 26:50 at pre and then even more impressively ran 27:01 in the heat and smog of beijing, which translates probably to a 26:30-45 in good conditions. Mo farah is still only getting bettter, looks like he is in the best shape of his life; this shouldn't be very close.

It's hard to pass up responding to this.
Ryan Hall may stand on the starting line of a marathon, possibly for cash.
And he might run the first couple of miles at 4:40 pace. After that he might jog to the 10 mile marker.
And he might show up to the expo at the Great North Run and sign some autographs.
I recall saying his calendar is cleared of all marathons until the trials
Let me know when he posts a world class time at any distance, as far as I am concerned, he is old news.
Is he pacing some charity runners? Or taking the elite race through 5K? No chance he is going to compete in the elite race.
Here are the 3k times Ventolin doesn't want to post:
3:27/26:30
7:17
3:27/26:25
7:16.5
A good number of people having a long convoluted conversation about Ryan Hall ? Why?
Can't wait for that 40th Day kickstarter doc to come out! I heard it could be any day now!
Why is Ryan Hall even mentioned in the same sentence as Sambu and Farah. The hype has been dead for years.
PS. Still waiting for my money back from the Ryan Hall documentary that failed miserably.
